proper hand wash
 Target audience: Children between ages 5 and 17; at
least one member from each family in the community.
 Time taken for the teaching : 1-2 hours
 Location of the teaching : Community hall
 Community setting: Community Health centre

Epidemiological rationale for
the topic
 Hand Hygiene is the ultimate way to prevent infections.
 Reports have shown that the health care providers clean their hands
less than half of the times than they should do.
 This is related to the spreading of Health care associated infections.
 According to the UNICEFF reports about 1.5 millions of children die
every year due to diarrhoea due to ineffective hand washing and
cleanliness (UNICEF, 2019).
 Some of the common respiratory diseases due to poor hand hygiene
includes influenza, cold , chicken pox and meningitis.
