Jesus Christ was undoubtedly was one of the most influential figures in the history of
the world itself. He was a first century Jewish preacher as well as a religious leader, who has
been established to be the central figure of Christianity itself. Thus, it can be stated that the
Christians indeed consider Jesus Christ to be their religious leader. The character of Jesus has
been described in the gospels written by each of his disciples. There are some differences in
the life and the character of Christ in each of these Gospels itself. This is what the essay will
talk about.
The purpose of this essay to compare the character of Jesus in the Gospel of
Mark with the childhood gospel of Matthew and Luke.
In order to make the comparisons of the character of Jesus in accordance with the
Gospels of Mark with that of Matthew and Luke, it is first important for the readers to get to
know about the character of Jesus Christ and what had been said about the character of Christ
in each of the Gospels that are available for the readers themselves. In the first case, the
character of Jesus Christ had been well described in the Gospels written by ark, who was
considered to be one of the followers of Christ himself. In the Gospel of Mark, the character
of Christ had been described in detail for the benefit of the understanding of the readers
themselves (Johnson: 161).
The Gospel written by Mark tells the character of Jesus Christ which have been
presented to the readers from the perspective of the disciple Mark. The first thing about the
character of Christy which they get to know from the Gospel itself is the fact that Jesus never
indulged in self-promotion. He only preached whatever he was asked to preach by God
himself as well as John the Baptist who had baptised him (Strelan: 2016). Other evidences of
the character of Jesus Christ that the readers could get from the Gospel of Mark is that Jesus
was fully obedient to that of the Holy Spirt itself. This is evidenced by the fact that Jesus
