Background of the Project CE 3.2.1: Features of the Undertaken ProjectThe tremendous needs for better connectivity between the ITC devices have allowedvarious researches regulators and technologist to evaluate the operational capability of IoT. Ihave found that by the year 2020, billions of IoT devices will be connected to internet with theuse of sensors for accelerating the demand. The connectivity between the devices is establishedthrough wireless connection. In this project, I have conducted an experiment for determining thespectrum occupancy of the IoT devices. For the IoT devices, I have considered 915-928 MHzspectrum window for conducting the experiment. Through the experiment, I have focused ondetermining the feasibility of using the selected free spectrum band for the connection of the IoTdevices. Page 1 of 10

CE 3.2.2: Aims and ObjectivesIn this project I have developed my primary aim to conduct a feasibility study for usingthe free spectrum band for the connectivity in the IoT devices in the near future. Therefore, forthe experiment, I had to classify the spectrum density of population and for measuring thedensity in order to determine the relation between the density and spectrum occupancy. For thesuccessful completion of the project, I have developed the following objectives:To classify the data in various population density;To integrate the ALOHA model for accessing the network;To develop the appropriate experiment environment;To configure the sendan car with the GPS receiver, monopole antenna and spectrumanalyzer for collecting the data all over Melbourne; To analyze the observed signal for determine the feasibility of the IoT network;CE 3.2.3: Characteristic of my work in the Undertaken Project In the initial section of the project, I have studied various studies and journals forevaluating the methodology for the measurement of the signal and population density. I havefurther used these data for analysis using the ALOHA model. I have further focused ondemonstrating the density and signal characteristics for conducting the study. CE 3.2.4: Organizational Structure Associated with this Project I was the only members involved in this project for the conduction of the experiment. Ihave worked under the supervision of the advisors associated with this project. Page 2 of 10
