Project BackgroundCE 3.2.1: Characteristics of the ProjectIn various multiple and single output dc to dc converters, the Flyback power sourcesplays a significant role in at lower power levels at 150 watts or less. I have learnt that the flybackconverters used the inductor for storage of energy. Further, in telecommunication industry theflyback converters are utilized for interfacing with various voltage ranges. In various topologiesderived on the buck convertor, are implemented with the use of push-pull or forward convertorfor reducing the significant amount of cost and component count. Therefore, in this project Ihave worked for the understanding and evaluation of the working principle of the flybackconvertor. In addition to that, I have focused on designing and implementation of a flybackconvertor for this project. In this project I have used Precision Reference UC3965 along with“Low Offset Error Amplifier” for driving the octocoupler used in this project. Page 1 of 10

CE 3.2.2: Objectives developed for projectIn this project, I have developed my significant aim for the design of the flybackconverter. Prior to that; I have focused on understanding of the working principle for the flybackconverter. In addition to that, I was associated with the hardware implementation and circuitdesign for the flyback converter for this project. In order to complete the project within allocateddeadline while ensuring all the possible deliverables I have developed the following objectives:To identify the working principle for flyback converter;To evaluate the system requirement and electrical equipments for the flybackconverter;To determine the specifications for the power supply for the flyback converter;To develop the topology design and control method for flyback converter;To develop the appropriate design for the flyback transformer;To provide the appropriate design and set up for the UCC3809 and error amplifier;CE 3.2.3: My area of workBefore started working in the hardware implementation of the flyback converter, I havedetermined the specification for the power supply for the flyback convertor. In this project, Ihave ensured the 0A to 10 A of load, + 5V of DC output voltage, –72VDC to –32VDC inputvoltage range and the 1500VRMS Isolation. In addition to that, I have developed the appropriatedesign for the power stage of the flyback convertor and setting up with the required UCC3809.In addition to that, I have also developed the preliminary circuit diagram for the error amplifierin the secondary line.
