Outline and aim
• Aim of the presentation is to critically reflect and analyse the
complex patient care on clinical placement
• It will demonstrate the role of interprofessional team members on
the nursing practice
• The study will outline the presenting complaint, comorbidities,
patient's condition, medical, psychological and surgical conditions of
the patient
• It will also review the nursing interventions and provide my view on
this clinical care approach

The Presenting complaint
• Limb deformities causing one
leg curved and shorter than the
other one
• Prior twelve days of limb
strengthening surgery by an
orthopaedic surgeon
• The external fixator is attached
to the bone and into the skin
• External fixator will be removed
after 6 to 8 weeks of the surgery
depending on the condition of

Comorbidities
• Infection on the bone joint
that causes limb length
disparities
• Femoral focal deficiency
including the lower
extremity in the femur
• The lower leg bones such as
fibula and tibia are affected
• Fractures develop in the
growth plate resulting in
limb length discrepancy
