Executive Summary
With the development of the information technology, digital products play an
increasingly important role in almost all daily lives. People use digital products not only to work
and entertainment, but also use these devices to commit illegal operations or to solve a case.
Computer Forensics commonly called Digital Forensics, is to retrieve and discovering criminal
data from digital devices such as USB, Hard Drive, Computer and Mobile Phone etc. Digital
forensics investigators can access and recover much information on every digital product, which
will greatly improve the efficiency of the investigation.
Nowadays, mobile phone technology has advanced rapidly in the past few decades so that many
people store a wealth of information on cell phones and smartphones, therefore, the information
stored in it would be very valuable for investigation process.
Discovering evidence from mobile phone is becoming increasingly valuable in
digital forensics.
However, due to mobile phone technology has developed far beyond what its inventors
could have imagined, forensics experts will face increasing difficulty and system complexity so
that discovering evidence from mobile device is a new and more challenging in Digital forensics.
If evidence correctly, it can offer a remarkable support in criminal investigations and court
verdict. This paper is going to deepen beginning learner of computer forensics understanding of
common forensic tools and how they are applicable to real-lift situation. For this purpose of the
paper selected a recent real case scenario to analyze the utilization of computer forensics
