This report explores the impact of computer games on children's skills and the issues associated with their usage. It covers recent trends in Saudi Arabia, skills learned from computer games, and the legal issues related to gaming. INTRODUCTION
Computer games for children comprise of various platforms such as hand held consoles
to whole computer systems. There has a been a growing research on the impacts that computer
games have on children. Researches have also been done on the impact that computer games
have on behavior of children. The present report will focus on the selective use of computer
games. It will explore the question regarding whether computer games should be played for fun
or are they capable of teaching skills to children.

Synopsis:
I have done research using vital information attained form authentic research papers, and
published articles which were highly informative in gaining authentic crux about my research
topic. Issues such as time management, and detailed effective utilization of best research
materials were faced while completing research.
USE OF COMPUTER GAMES IN SAUDI ARABIA
There has been widespread prevalence of computer games not only in the markets but
also in the households. The computer games are mainly divided into console games and PC
games. Theseplatforms further present a number of games namely first person shooters, real time
strategy games, socialbuilding games etc.These take much of the children’s time and thinking as
well as interests. As per the study conducted by Rajab and et.al., (2020) in Saudi Arabia, 11 per
cent of the adolescents were found to have high level stress. Addiction to gaming was fud to be
associated with stress. Further, a survey conducted by Cint shows that in 2018, 25 per cent
respondents stated that 1 to 3 hours per week were spent in paying computer/ video games in
Saudi Arabia (Video Gaming & eSports, 2021). Alshehri and Mohamed (2019) found that one of
the most influential factors in the growth and personality development of children is electronic
games. The research also shows that by playing electronic games, children are able to develop
further extensive rise on abilities to be diversely being advanced towards competitive
performance for strengthened functional engagement proactively. It can be also analyzed that
computer games, increases indulgences within competitive diversity paradigms for strengthened
working performance goals for developing rise on wider domains.
The data from recent studies, has been also extending towards functional working pace
goals where Saudi Arabia is one of the most advanced country taking best steps for extended
new range of games. It can be also found that computer games, innovatively determine extended

scope to evolve rise among abilities in individuals and also enhance working expertise rapidly on
extended parameters. There are various skills, new knowledgeable expertise evolving among
productive usage of games which also enables individual potentialities to synchronize new range

SKILLS LEART FROM COMPUTER GAMES
Risk taking
Though computer games have faced criticism, but there is another side to the coin. These
game have also been considered for development of various skills in children. Risk taking is one
of such skills. These games make the children learn navigating in unfamiliar territories quickly.
They also learn to tackle new scenarios and deal with different situations.This provides the
children the ability to take risks. However, it can be critically analyzed that the ability of risk
taking is only useful when the risk is taken in a calculated and strategic manner. Since children
lack both these abilities, computer games may provoke them to take risks in a reckless manner
which can be dangerous (Sanger and et.al., 2019).
Patience and perseverance
In order to succeed in life, patience and perseverance are the qualities which are required
by an individual. It is important that these qualities are inculcated in child at an early age. Some
computer games help in developing these skills which equip them in handling challenging
situations and wait patiently for the success. Further, computer games also increases ability to be
responsively active for developing proper competent abilities with huge patience skills
specifically based on untapped vision (Adžić and et.al, .2021). Students from young age are able
to develop proper responsively attitude for various activities, where electronic games enhances
scope for new talents to be developed on. Creative skills, develops attitude to be developed
among children for further improvised new paradigms towards larger functional working
efficacy based on diverse competencies.
Problem solving
Some computer games involve puzzle challenges. In order to play these games, the user
is required to alter their perceptions and approaches. In this way, computer games such as tick
Tock Clock help in inculcating the skills of planning, experimentation and adaptability. These
skills further assist a child to develop into an individual who is able to handle crisis situations

and work challenges (Schmitt and et.al., 2018). Electronic games further derives developed
scope for children, to leverage new range of parameters based on varied extensive development
for engaging in new activities based on extended domains.
Strategizing
There are a number of computer games which require the payer to adopt strategic
approaches to progress throughvarious levels or win. For example, CivilizationandStarCraft are
games which require planning and strategy. Therefore, these games can help in the development
of the skills used for strategizing (Mirani-Sargazi and et.al., 2020). However, it can be
criticallyanalyzed that at the age of a child, these skills are not developed and take time to
develop as a child ages. Therefore, computer games may not be successful in inculcating the
strategic planning skills in a child.
Concentration
The scenarios in computer games require full concentration of the player to win.
Therefore, they can be helpful in developing concentration of the player. However, it can
becriticallyanalyzed that this is true only in case of adults as computer games may hamper the
concentration of child in studies. These work as distractions and the child may not be able to
concentrate on the studies (Rosyati and et.al., 2020).
Multitasking skills
Asthe complexity of computer games increased with time, so is the requirement of multi-
tasking while paying the game. As the players have to handle multiple tasks in a time, it helps in
the development of multi- tasking skills. However, children may not be able to multitask
properly and may lose focus on the ask they are performing (Mamutović,Stanisavljević-
Petrovićand Marković, 2021). Hence, it can be analyzed these skills can be inculcated through
computer games in adults but not in children.
Coordination skills
It has been found that paying computer games has been associated with improvement in
coordination.These provide various actions and activities which lead to enhancement of mental
stimulation. For playing a game on computer, co- ordination of various kills such as audio, visual
and physical is required (KamenarČokor and Bernik, 2021). This coordination needs brain
powerwhich further improves the skills in children.

ISSUES ASSOCIATED WITH COMPUTER GAMES
The prime issue associated with computer games is that it becomes hard for children to
control the time spent. Children are more likely to play computer games at the expense of their
sleep, outdoor activities and homework. This also lowers their physical abilities, aptitude in
studies and hampers overall activities within functional working rise based on continuous usage
of games. It can be also analyzed that immediate response of games addiction hampers overall
functional strengths, to develop functional working efficacy for optimum health recovery.
They also reduce the time spent with family and friends. Therefore, it can be analyzed
that computer games distance children from all the activities which are important for their social
and cognitive development (Mamutović, Stanisavljević-Petrović, and Marković, 2021).
Reduction in the time spent with family and friends make them lack social skills. Further, studies
have found that addiction of computer games is directly related to anxiety and depression in
children. The author found thatplaying more computer games makes the children stay at home
for longer time thus reducing the amount of physical activity which impacts their physical and
mental health. Children mental health is significantly impacted by addiction and functional
continuous usage of computer games which lowers mental health fundamentally on longer time
run. Children if from small age are variedly using games and computers on extensive level, this
further hampers their education and performance in academic based on functional scale
paradigms. It has been also found that computer games addiction lowers determined aptitude to
respond to functional standards for extended time period. It lowers eyes sight of students and
children which has been found to be one of the key aspect determined to be variedly essential.
Further, computer games have also been found to have a direct relation with anxiety and violent
behavior in children (Hosseini and Khani, 2020). This depends on the level and intensity of
violence. It also affectsthe ability of the player to inhibittheir motivation and desires. Computer
games make the players conform to the characters. As a result of this, violent behaviors are seen
in children on the basis of participatory modelling. Active conditioning is another reason which
can be considered responsible for the evidence of violentbehaviors in children due to computer
games. There is issue of high addiction, found to be developed among children due to
continuous functional usage of computer game where this has been also found to be one of the
most significant factor (Anwar and et.al, .2020 ). It hampers overall health conditions in longer

ANALYSIS

The computer games may raise legal issues related to digital ownership. Issues may also
arise related to security. The security systems which are implemented in computer games have
risks associated with them which may also raise legal issues. Issues related to privacy may also
cause legal concerns to rise. Certain games erode the individual’s right to privacy raising legal
issues.
Laws regarding computer gaming
 Laws related to retail piracy- These laws cover the concerns associated with pirated
interactive games.
 Ministry of information also takes several enforcement actions for piracy of video game
software.
CONCLUSION
From the above analysed aspects, it has been concluded that Saudi Arabia is one of the
most significantly rising country where children are variedly using continuous using online
games and electronic games. In recent research within study, detailed analysis has been done on
recent skills such as higher creative talent engagement and researching skills, problem solving
initiatives have been diversely developing children engagement. The recent analysis also in
depth shed light on factors where issues such as continuous decline in mental aptitude,
responsive decline and further extended usage which has been found as some significant issues.
