The internet and internet searches
How to define the term internet:
While defining the term internet, first, I would consider making some meaning out of the
two terms that is the prefix “inter” and the suffix “net” that makes up the term “internet”. The
prefix means between or among while the suffix means network. Combined together, we come
up with “among networks” the terms involvs more than two networks or sometimes devices that
are interconnected; the connection among two or more networks or devices is what is termed as
the internet (Rouse, 2014).
Internet searche:
For the purpose of this part of the assignment, I searched the key words "privacy
protection in big data analytics" in three search engines including google, Bing.com and
Ask.com. The outcome from the three search engines pretty met my expectations. However, as
much as google tried to be specific as far as the anticipated results are concerned, the results
were quite off my expectation. This is in the sense that while the focus of the search was the
privacy protection in big data analytics, more than a quarter of the first ten results obtained from
google talked about challenges in privacy protection which I never expected.
Bing.com also attempted to produce quite relevant results with the first result almost
hitting the target. Among the first ten results produced by Bing.com the first seven were relevant
to what I expected unlike google. The Ask.com, on the other hand produced a few result which
were quite related to the anticipated results; it produces only two results which were closely
related to the kind of the results I expected, but the results were positioned towards the last

section among the first ten results. Overall, for this search, Bing.com produced the most relevant
results among the three search engines.
