Executive summary
The report mainly aims at discussing about all the availability tools of the
server of monitoring which provides a lot of help in enhancing the performance of
the server. All the monitoring tools have the capability of the reduction of the
server’s latency and improvement in the health of the server. The actual job or
rather the main job of all the tools is to avoid the main server from being crashed.

Introduction
A server can be well defined as a particular system which has that much of
capability that it can be able to provide large amount of data and resources of the
client over a network channel. Servers to any particular function are configured in a
specific way so that a number of requests can be received from all the clients which
have been obtained from the network channel itself [2]. A number of functions of
sever can be noticed which involves the identification of the actual verification of
the requester and a unique permission for the access of data. All of the tools of
monitoring are really very much essential especially for administrating the working
of the system. All the software possess a specific method which has already been
predefined to finally approach the main problem which is actually being faced by
the server system [3]. A particular checking has been done upon the degradation of
the system by all the software tools within a specific system which directly shows a
huge impact in return upon the service delivery performance.

Different IT server monitoring tools are as follows [3]:

Ganglia is a particular software designed especially for a number of computer
systems which mostly possess high speed of the performance [1]. It is mainly a
software meant for monitoring which has an open source. The architecture of the
system is distributed in a broad way. It helps a lot to several microprocessors by
providing huge support. It offers support to the OS also.

Nagios Core is a monitoring tools having its source open. One of the
advantage is that it is very much effective of cost and also customizable as well [5].
Several metrics which are offered particularly by this specific tool possess with the
capability of monitoring the performance of the server.
Spiceworks can be considered as some other tools used for monitoring the
server which is particularly written upon rails [4]. This tools has the capability of
seeking for those devices having IP addressing and also provides a knowledge base
as well. It also has the capability of offering insights into all the SNMP devices and
switches as well.
Cacti is a software monitoring tool which is mostly front ended having the
capacity for the management of all the data which are collected. Gathering of data
mainly occurs with the help of a specific script being external. It actually enhances
metric feeding. It has the capability of producing graphs for any set of data which is
provided. All graphs are created from a specific element which includes the load
balancers within the infrastructure.
CollectD is a software monitoring tool which is utilised in different OS and it
has the capability of identifying all the performance’s bottlenecks very clearly [6]. It
is integrated with a graphing tool. It has the capability of storing all the data which
are collected in the form of files which are mainly RRD.
Icinga is another monitoring tool having the capability of providing with a full
new API attribute known as REST API. It enables integration of extensions with an
ease and all such extensions do not need any alteration in the core. It is an
extended version of Nagios.
WhatsUp Gold is mainly a software possessing with the capability of providing
a map which will be very much interactive and comprehensive as well. The map
which is particularly the interactive one is all about the total network’s
