2CONCEPT MAP ON INNOVATION
Introduction:
An organization must be structured and aligned in a way that can provide operational integrity
while improvising the platform for planning and implementing innovative ideas (Porter-O'Grady,
Clark & Wiggins, 2013). The purpose of this paper is to discuss about innovation, roles of
stakeholders and the standards of the members while taking the initiatives for innovation. This
paper also provides a concept map to simplify these facts.
Organization, innovation, stakeholders and standards:
Innovation:
In healthcare and any other industry innovation refers an act of executing and planning
something creative that can improve the quality of the service while increasing the profitability
and equity of the organization. However, sometimes the innovation is unsafe for business
operation due to having unlimited risks within it that cannot be detected even under the
interference of the stakeholders. ‘Supportive infrastructure’, ‘creative process’, ‘thinking out of
the box’ and utilization of technologies are the major components of the innovative
implementation of any service or business operation (Porter-O'Grady & Malloch, 2015).
Stakeholders:
In any business industry or healthcare service ‘stakeholders’ refers the persons who are directly
connected with the organizational operation and service providing, such as for healthcare
services stakeholders are the doctors, nurses, caregivers, members of management board,

patients, vendors and other associate service providers. Without interventions and crating values
of these stakeholders, any operation of the healthcare organization cannot be planned or executed
successfully. The organizational structure, process and operational integrity within the
stakeholders are the ‘core elements and synthesis of the whole’ (Porter-O'Grady & Malloch,
2015).
Roles of stakeholders in innovation:
The assembly of stakeholders recognizes the needs of innovation within the organization
considering the external as well as the internal environment. By supporting and valuing the
organizational goals and objectives, the stakeholders can balance the quality and time under their
operational territory that collectively works to sustain the capacity of performing within a
specific environment. Appropriate stakeholders improvise the platform compatible for situational
decision making that is essential for planning and implementing any innovative idea. At the same
time, the operational integrity within the regulatory board members and the other influential
personnel makes the framework for innovation easier to achieve while considering the
resistances against the organizational change (Kaya, Turan & Aydın, 2015). Specifically for
healthcare organization the governance of management board can only enhance the feasibility of
the strategic innovation, when the terminal stakeholders such as nurses, caregivers, doctors,
facility providers can cooperate with the authorized interference.
Organizing the initiatives
Organizing the initiatives refers the group of activities that can sort out the best synchronization
of attributes, which are capable to handle any consequences involving the internal and external
as well as direct and indirect regulator of the organization. The successful initiative depends on

the engagement level of the staffs. The leadership style and the interpretation of the governing
regulations determine the authenticity and sustainability of the initiatives taken for planning and
implementing the innovative ideas. To some extend the simplicity of the initiative work practice
has to be embraced more by nurses and caregivers rather than the line manager or director or
even any authorized member of management board (Remus & Kennedy, 2012). On the other hat
initiatives for innovative implementation needs consistent support of all stakeholders, which
requires the motivation and alignment. Aligning the performance and regular practices of all
staffs irrespective of their roles in healthcare service is the most essential part of initiation.
Standards of members to serve and advance the innovation idea:
The standards of the members refer the roles and the responsibilities as per the designation of
every staffs who are engaged in the planning and implementing the innovative ideas and
operation. Among many crucial recommendations for the members, one of the most important
attribute that standardize the quality of execution is valuing the organization’s ethics and their
stakeholders. At the same time, collaboration and cooperative behaviors determine the peripheral
constrains of standards of the workforce aiming to implement a particular innovative idea
(Porter-O'Grady & Malloch, 2015). The achievability of the objectives while keeping a
sustainable relationship with all the regulators depends on the quality or standard of the members
who serves the consumers.
Concoction:
From the above discussion, it is clear that without interventions and crating values of these
stakeholders, any operation of the healthcare organization cannot be planned or executed
