PERSONAL BRANDING
Personal branding could be defined as the concept of marketing oneself. Personal
branding is not a new concept as Tom Peters used it for the first time in 1990 (McCorkle and
Payan, 2017). Personal branding highlights promotion of one's career and the skills that the
person wants to exhibit to be more employable. This concept is similar to the branding of
any product or services that is seen in case of business organisations (McCorkle and Payan,
2017). This assignment highlight the personal branding of one’s careers along with the skills
and requirements that are needed to be suitably employed in large organisations based on the
skills that a person has.
After my graduation, I would like to pursue the career of a software engineer. This is
because I have studied Bachelor of technology in computer science and the best possible
career that I have in this field is being a software engineer. With the advancement in the
digitalization and technology, a software engineer is a requirement for all large business
organisations in order to develop and maintain the online business and the technologies that
incorporate (Campelo et al. 2014). In order to be a software engineer there are various skills
that I need to possess. One of the basic skills that I have is a sound knowledge about
computers and computer related technology. I have studied various computer science
subjects in my graduation and have expertise knowledge in various programming languages.
The programming languages that I am well equipped in includes C, C++, Java, Python, C
Sharp, Dot Net and have adequate knowledge in scripting languages such as JavaScript and
HTML
I have adequate knowledge of computer networks and the working of Internet.
Computer database, DBMS is also one of my basic skills. Having these skills, are the basic
requirements of being a software engineer. With the advancement in technology software
engineers are in high demand in various business organisation (Tuškej et al., 2013). Along
with the technical skills, I have various professional skills as well. These include effective

short span of time with less effort. The diligence with which I work is essential for being
successful in my professional career.
In order to ensure personal branding is effectively conducted it is essential to
demonstrate the skills in the areas in which I am expert. Demonstration of skills that are not
true might result in lack of reliability of my personal branding (Resnick et al., 2016). The
main aim of personal branding is to highlight the skills that I possess in order to be more
employable. It is important that I demonstrate various personal professional as well as
technical skills and enhance them continuously to become more employment in large
business organisations of my domain.
