Summary
The aim of this report is to look at two different charity’s organizations, one local and the
other, an international. The report will highlight and discuss their mission, vision, beneficiaries,
leadership and management structure. This report will also apply theories, concepts and models
of management and leadership strategies for the local charity compared to the international
charity, furthermore this report will review the historical development of the social economy and
the contemporary scope for innovation and enterprise for the both organization, the chosen
charities are the grapevine and the international Red Cross. The report will follow on to critically
discuss the external factors such as the economy, legislation, policy, globalization, and how these
impact upon services within the organizations and finally this report will use existing
information from the websites, online books and leaflets in order to develop the methodology

Grapevine Overview
Grapevine is a small Non-profit organization in Coventry, their mission is to help all
kinds of different local people that are experiencing isolation, poverty and disadvantage to enable
them to build better life. They work with over They work alongside partnership accelerate

They offer practical person- centered guidance, advocacy and support. The charity is
founded by Clare Wightman CEO who works with Mel smith duty CEO. Clare has led
Grapevine for the last 5 years, it started as a charity of a single client to a well-established that’s
focus on the purpose, vision and new strategic plan to support different individuals. Her previous
experience of clients benefiting from a charity assessing.
Vision/mission
The vision of grapevine is to help people who endure isolation, poverty and the most
disadvantage to rebuild a better life, their aim to get to the root of the real cause of the an
ongoing problem. In future they want to people to take control of their lives and ensure that they
do not continue to experience the same issues by breaking the cycle. They do this by sustaining
movement for change, working with services like the local authorities, NHS. They offer wide
range of support and if they are unable to, they would appoint their partners who can: their

Grapevine avails free and valid information to the people. A range of info is provided
including those of healthy living, going out, and parenting.
Beneficiary
Grapevine assists people with learning disabilities in getting life they desire-to make their
individual choices as well as become part of their community. Grapevine aims at reducing
isolation which several people with learning disabilities go through. Several people spend their
lives in the day care and residential. However, Grapevine has experience as well as knowledge of
helping people to make connections as well as have a lie in the ordinary world. This is what
Grapevine does. Grapevine assists all types of people experiencing isolation, poverty as well as

The organization is grave, creative as well as passionate about the work it does since it
knows that working that way can provide a new life. The connecting matters: services cannot
always be available, however, other individuals can. Several people facing hard times do not
have the support of firm networks –the organization helps individuals find as well as develop
networks of positive relationships.
Everyone has something to offer-The organization is able to assist individuals get others
who shall welcome their contribution. Usually individuals are stigmatized, labelled as well as
merely seen as having needs-this is wrong.
A good life is a life which changes and grows-too many individuals live on edge of
