Conflict is referred to as a situation that may occur both in workplaces and relationships
due to either insufficient communication or improper way of communication. From Jess Kutch
discussion it is learnt that relationships sometimes suffer due to conflict creating non-verbal
messages. Non-verbal communication sometimes expresses negative behavior and thus the other
person misconstrues it. However, non-verbal communication sometimes also expresses positive
emotion that satisfies relationships.
The functional conflicts are generally task related conflicts and on the other hand, the
dysfunctional conflicts are the relationship conflicts. The five different stages of conflict are
latent, perceived, felt conflict, manifest and aftermath conflict. Conflicts are inevitable in nature
thus resolution of the conflict is also very essential. In order to maintain the workplace the
involved people must use open communication strategy. Coloration is the best conflict
management skill that every workplace associate needs to have.
