people working collaboratively. Further, it is referred as the situation where differences in

effectively. It is not only significant to resolve the conflicts however it is equally crucial to
make sure that the parties being involved in the flight or hot conversation does not
unreasonably end up being in any form of stress throughout the resolution process of the
conflict. There are two important techniques that can be used for resolving the conflicts and
these are as follows:
Compromising or Reconciling – Many a times for some conflicts, there is a
requirement for involved parties to think of the other direction wherein both the
parties being involved makes decision to give up something and determine a
resolution. Such kind of solution to the conflicts is not permanent for that moment and
are also not regarded as an enduring solution. This might also result in the lose-lose
kind of a result because both the parties might sense a feeling that they have lost
something (Mahvar, Ashghali Farahani & Aryankhesal, 2018).
Accommodating – This is also being considered as one of the most crucial techniques
when the environment appears to be filled with distrust between the parties being
involved. In such a situation, no one is ready to resolve the conflict. In such kind of a

condition, one of the parties can take the control and make efforts to smooth the
atmosphere through utilizing nice phrases and words and through focusing on the
points of agreements as well as playing down on the points of disagreements. Such
type of conflict resolving technique can act as a catalyst for breaking the discomfort
amid the involved parties through creation of feeling of trust. Further, it also
motivates them to come forwards and solve the problems amid them.
Collaborating – This is the method in which parties being involved in the conflict

and search for the best alternative. They do discussion above then their personal
emotions and just emphasize on the win-win outcome.

the network MSNBC who was the anchor of the show and the other one was Peter Navarro,
an American economist (Ari Melber Biography. (2021). They both were having a discussion
in relation with the MAGA plot to overturn the 2020 presidential election, which was being
detailed and mentioned by Navarro in his book. They both were showing reciprocity element
of DNA of negotiation process as they are countering back to each other’s argument.
However, Peter Navarro was more effective in getting his core message across as he has done
homework prior coming to this show and has also researched many shows, stories and
documents before claiming fraud in the elections (Lam, 2021).
Both the speakers were creating or inventing likely stories for their adversaries. In
regards with, Peter Navarro, he was claiming that the there has been fraud in the elections and
irregularities which was not considered by the vice president of United States of America
despite of having acknowledged by him. He further stated that Pence didn’t listen to him and
just get himself involved in these irregularities. On the other hand, the anchor of the show Ari
Melber was supporting the president and Vice president and all other administrators of
elections that they are not involves in election fraud and has asserted that Peter Navarro is
just saying false statements with no sound evidence.
Moving further, there were no signs of threatened being observed or seen during the
interview process. However, there were some points where the discussion was heated up such
as in the instance when Peter Navarro said that Pence was not listening to him despite of his
steady reminder about the fraud and irregularities in election. To that, the anchor got angry
and questioned him back that why he was not listening to you. Nevertheless, both the
speakers didn’t feel threatened at point of time (Kay & Skarlicki, 2020).
There were many instances where the discussion became adversarial or in other words
involves an opposition or conflict. The very first took place at 8:00 minutes when Peter
Navarro said that Pence refused to take his repetitive phones calls despite of the direct request
from the President Trump. To that, the anchor got angry and questioned him around 8:44
minutes that what did he think was the reason behind refusion of the vice president to respond
to his phone calls. In addition to this, there was also one instance when Peter Navarro
questioned at 2:10 minutes and blames that the elections was stolen by fraud and election
irregularities. To this, the anchor contradicted his statements and refuse to accept that the
election was fraud at 2:18 minutes. If the tension was diffused and the discussion would have
returned to safety then the discussion might be regarded as an emotional. This is due to the
fact that in that situation the efforts, thoughts and attention being given, crowds the minds of
other and there is no room of examination.

CONCLUSION
Thus, from the above analysis, it can be said that it is quite essential to manage
conflicts because it results in tensions, distrust and cerates emotional imbalance in the mind
of the parties or people being involved in the conflicts. The current research report has clearly
identified different techniques of managing conflicts such as compromising, accommodating
and collaborating. There are other different techniques as well which can be used for
managing that has taken place between the two parties, for example, becoming a calming
agent, accepting the conflicts, working together, evaluating the conflicts, listening actively
and so forth. In addition to this, it is important that the parties involved in any discussion
should resolve the conflicts taking place between them as soon as possible. This is due to the
fact that the well-managed conflict becomes the key towards effective communication. Other
than this, as in the current case both the speakers were involved in the conflicts as their
opinions about their adversaries were quite different. Thus, if such kind of conflicts are not
resolved in time than it might result into explosive behaviour and later on, resentment.
