1CONSERVATION STRATEGIES Abstract The aim of the research article is to explore the different strategies which has been adopted by the land owners as a means of protecting the lands. The lands which are referred has been destroyed by the recent bushfires in South Wales for ultimate protection of the diminishing Koala populations. The conservation program which has been considered for the protection of the Koala populations is the Koala Conservation Strategy which has started in 1988 for the main aim of protecting the Koala populations of Australia. The initiative was first started by the Queensland government which had introduced measures in response to the rapid decrease in the Koala populations over the past few years. In July 2016, the government of Queensland had introduced the Koala expert panel for provision of recommendations regarding the declining Koala population densities in Queensland and New Wales. Similar research has been conducted earlier around the areas like Coff harbor. There has been a gap in the literature as there has been a lack in the specified role of the decision makers regarding population loss of important species due to natural disasters. There are various issues for the reason of the diminishing Koala populations which are natural as well as man-made. For the promotionofsuchsensitiveissues, variouspromotionstrategieshasbeenintroduced consideringthecommonpopulationsasthetargetaudienceforincreasingawareness regarding the diminishing Koala populations. It is inclusive of agricultural development and property development along with various factors like logging regimes and regular fuel burning processes. There are various strategies for the promotion of the activities pertaining to the protection of Koala populations. The Environmental Impact Assessment has short term as well as long term effects. Regarding the short term effects, it aims in identification of the various risks which are involved in the development of the various proposals. The long term effects include the promotion of the sustainable development strategies for ensuring the various development proposals which are mainly implemented for the protection of the
2CONSERVATION STRATEGIES endangered species. The South Australian Conversation strategies have been introduced for the conservation of the Koala populations in Australia. Improvisations has been made regardingrequirements of the Koala populations and their protection around the populations in Australia. Thus, along with the role of the land managers in controlling the lands threatened by the bush fires, introduction of proper management strategies as well as governmental policies for the protection of diminishing koala populations are necessary for the protection of the populations from such natural calamities.
