INTRODUCTION
This report revolves around use of technology and different techniques in building an
effective structure for construction of building. This report help in understanding about how
different technologies have contributed civil engineers in developing effective building structures
which can survive for long-term. This report provides information about developing an effective
infrastructure and what type of resources and technologies are needed for construction. Civil
engineering is based on building large and effective structures which includes highways, bridges,
water networks etc. This report is based on building an industrial complex and how different
proposed industrial complex can be made effective. Scenario which is taken in this project
focuses on understanding process of how contracts are given by contractors what different
legislation should be followed at construction site to ensure health and safety of workers which
are working at construction site (Barontini and et. al., 2019).
TASK 1
P1 Development of construction industry and how it encompassed professionalism
Development of construction industry is based on development in technology which is
used for construction. Heavy and advanced machinery have contributed in development of
construction industry. Technological advancements in construction industry helped in building
structures effectively and efficiently. In current scenario, technology such as drones, robots, 3D
printed buildings are used to develop effective structures and these technologies are also used on
job-sites across the globe. In the past scenario, productivity of construction industry has
remained flat but advancements in technologies have enhanced the productivity and profitability
of construction industry. In chosen scenario industrial buildings can be effectively build by
analysing surroundings of construction site and by use of technology it will help engineers in
understanding about construction site (Bielefeldt, 2019). These days’ construction industry
consists of civil engineers, workers etc. but construction professional is the one which help in
understanding about attributes of construction site and determines effectiveness of building in
future. Professionalism in construction have been developed as management team understands
relationship between structure of the company and relationship that are formed by contracts,
tendering etc.

Professionalism in construction industry is also developed by doing bidding for contracts
and contractor which have effective ideas gets contract for constructing a building. This type of
process has contributed in maintaining professionalism in industry and it also help in creating
environment which is effective for working. Professionalism is the key to success for every
industry and construction industry also focuses on achieving professionalism which contributes
in enhancing productivity of industry and it also help in boosting profits for industry.
P2 The scope and linkage between all parties within a construction organisation
During construction project there are various parties within construction organisation
which are linked with each other and plays crucial role in completion of project. Parties can be
from different sector which is private and public sector. Key parties which are involved in any
construction are owner, architect and general contractor. These parties have different agreements
in terms of business which is also called as contracts for the completion of project. It involves
design, engineering, management, construction and maintenance. In general, construction project
is ready to go when client have provided the required funds for construction and provided
approval for construction from authorities which have crucial part in construction process.
According to need and size of project there are different contract which are used by client such
as in medium to large size project trade contract have been made by client directly to work force.
Selected portion of work provided to general contractors and focuses on executing remaining
work by main contract (Das, 2019).
Different contracts are the linkage between parties and relationship between client and
contractor is maintained by main and turnkey contracts. In chosen scenario, client have given
contract and provided the specifications of construction. Client have focused on building an
effective industrial complex for long-term scenario and also provided specification of materials
which should be used during construction. Turnkey contract is used in chosen scenario as
contractor is responsible for design of project and there is only single contract between client and
contractor.
P3 Type of contractual work tendered by contractors
In construction industry there are three different types of tendering method which are used in
construction. These three construction methods are mentioned below:
 Open Tendering – This type of tendering focuses on attracting contractors by advertising
about proposed project and it also permits interested contractors to apply for tender
