INTRODUCTION
The aim of management of construction workplaces is to ensure better safety and health
measures and to control over the project for delivering it on time with better quality and also
effective cost. The main purpose of this report is to build and provide a better understanding of
construction and management exercises. Comprehensive monitoring and control over safety and
health responsibilitieas are important for success of construction project
(Aibinu and Odeyinka, 2018). This study make a comparison among construction processes,
safety modules and collaboration techniques within the construction site.
TASK 1
Explaination of how health and safety has now become an integrated part of the construction
process
Safety and health at the construction place, is not only about using personal protective
equipements and wanting that worlers wear PPE ehile the process of construction. Place of
construction is such a dangerous surrounding like the workers must be aware of all the activities
or things going on their site. Some points are described below:
Requiring safety training: Training is very important for well knowledgeable
and alert worlers or employees at workplace. Without the required training, the
upper seniors or supervisors will saw an eise in construction site accidents that
may lead several injuries to the employees and also may cause in fatalities.
Reducing existing hazards: Functioning of risk assessment and analysing level
of hazardness that can cause from working at constructions sites needs to be done
regularly for eliminating or mitigating these dangerous accidents. This also
improves condition of workplace and causes reduction in number of accidents
(Backlund, Chronéer and Sundqvist, 2018).
Following consensus and regulations standards: There are various regulations
and standards that must be followed for safety at construction place, and if these
found to be not followed by any firm at their workplace then, they must be
penalized by the regulation authorities. These rules and regulations are setted up

penalized by the regulation authorities. These rules and regulations are setted up
for the safety of people, but persons neglected the rules, then there are high
chances that site of work may suffer from higher number of accidents. Reporting
an increase in the number of accidents resultes in maintaining bad reputation of
contractors or the construction firm.
Construction employees and workers completed their assigned work in the most
dangerous surrounding which have a high frequency of accidents. Accidents includes many
kinds of fatals such as falling from towers, being electrocuted, damages of body parts due to
hazardeous particles and being crushed by machinery. With these challenges, supervisors still
carries their subordinates at work site. Safety and health perhaps, the most crucial need that must
be taken into consideration in the construction projects. Due to only one cause it includes very
important thing that is ''Lives of Humans''. No one can ignore the safety of anyone's life just for
the sake of completing a building, cost saving and fast progress (Chan and Shan, 2019).
TASK 2
Description of government legislations which has benchmarked health and safety within
construction site
The legislation
The main principle of legislation that affects the construction is applies to the whole
industry. The UK governement made health and safety at work legislations act 1974, and this act
came in force from 1974 itself. It imposes a resposibility or duty to all the supervisors to ensures
reasonably practicable, welfare, health and safety at workplace of all the subordinates and
individuals at the site. The HSWA act provides the regime for health and safety of managing the
risk at site. Some of the related acts are explained below:
Working at height regulation: This act came into force in 2015. It specifies all
the equipments that are used for safety such as ladders and scaffording. Factors
like doubling of guardails and boards on toe on scaffolding that can protect
employees and ensures that workers do not fall on by passers.
The lifting operations and lifting equipments regulation: The act introduced
by Government of UK in 1998. It states that usage of crames and other on
boarding lifting devices on lorries into other applications. It makes mandatory that
these equipments must be examined frequently and training to the workers about
its usage must be given properly (Egbu, 2021).

The construction regulation act 2015 for design and management: It taken
into consideration the whole system of risk management with use of a
collaborative approach that also helps the risk analyst in identification of hazards
which enables the individuals at workplace in taking necessary action on right
time (Green, 2019).
Control of Asbestos regulations 2012: This act gives various guidelines in detail
in regards of best exercise for handling the asbestos cement and material in order
to reduce the risk for employees and the public as well, especially while
demolotion of project.
Control of vibration at worksite regulations: This act is applicable from 2005,
it emphasis on prolonged exposure of large vibrating tools like jackhammers that
results in such a serious illness to the its users and other workers also who came in
its contact, typically its usage cause harm in ears, arms, palms and can harm
whole body also because thevibrations that come out of these tools unhandleable.
TASK 3
The role of collaboration and communication in ensuring safe working practices
Cummunicating and collaboration with the whole team is the most essential part for
ensuring health and safety in construction site. Lack of communication not only cause in
accidents, but also cause in disillusion among supervisor and their workers with the manner of
task and use of different machines and equipments, this can often generate to the health of
workers and their efficiency as well. The main contractor canalso work or visit the site with
client for ensuring the cooperation between workers and with others outside the construction site
who may be affected by the construction activities on workplace. This involves coordinating
with the activities of contractors on the principle contractor's site with contractors on any
neighbouring sites, particularly where the activities on each site cobine to create hazards outside
the sites that need to be addressed jointly (Hanna, Yeutter and Aoun, 2018).
Particularly on construction sites and in dynamic, active work environment, effective
communication can promotes a better safety culture. Developing a worksite safety culture
depends on better coordination and collaboration. Supervisor can ensure better communication at
workplace with following ways:

Follow top down approach: For making thecommunication effective on the site,
contractors and superiors requires to guide their teams by promoting collaboration
as the core value. It also enhances smooth functioning at site and ensures that
safety measures are taken.
Goal setting: Setting up of targets is not only for raising the turnover of business.
Superiors can also marks goals and targets that are focused towards improving the
safety of individuals on the site whether they are employees, clients and visitors.
It is very essential for seniors to made their team members know their specific
tasks that is required to do be them for enhancingsafety on worksite. When
workers retains their commitment towards safety obectives, then whole team
made effords that can lead in reduction of accidents and eliminates any kind of
contact with danger and hazards (Koseoglu, Sakin and Arayici, 2018).
Regular meeting: Meeting with workers on daily basis is the great way to
enhance communication among employees for effective safety measures. Being
interactive for superior helps in boosting collaboration in various respectives.
Employers can use this method for moilding a healthy and safe culture at the
construction site.
TASK 4
The construction industry has benefited through changes in health safety legislation
Health and safety both are the most important concern in construction industry. As all
knows construction industry are complex in nature. This is the fact of Construction industries
that there work are very dengerous and at the same time can injured workers who are working
around and on the sites. From the last past years construction industry facing and suffers from
the extremly bad health safety issues. In UK statistics study represent that around 4% of workers
involve in construction work survives by doing work which related with the injuries, and around
5to 6% of workers are facing health issues like illness in their work. Increase in accidents in
construction industry becames the main concern for the government (Riley and Brown, 2021).
Changes in construction industry by legislation has positively impact for the wellfare of workers
improving in the health and safety measures positivily effects the deduction in accidents, they
identify the problems within the construction regulation with rigid accountabilities and rules for
all the stakeholders. Benefits which drive from changes in health and safety by legislation.

Construction design and Regulation for management: This is highly concerned with
the health and safety management throughout the process of construction. In this duties
and responsibilities are accurately and particularly defines to the workers, which help
them in effective co-ordination, planning and this regulation helps in find out the health
and dangers to the safety through the every phase of construction process, which helps in
reducing the risk of health in workplace with the proper management and planning they
focuses on health and safety of their workers. Firstly they focuses on the development
and evaluation of the health and safety plans. Secondly they focuses on the process of
production which should is the essential part if the process of production or construction
on-site is effectively plan or analyse that will reduce half risk of the workers health.
Effective Trainings:Most of the disaster, accidents , mishappening occur on the site of
construction work and that happens because workers do not have exact or proper training
regarding the projects. But now workers take advantage of proper effective training by
UK government which makes them aware about the new ways of working on-site and
that will reduce the risk of accidents on-site of construction (Saad, Jones and James,
2020).
Tools: with help of various safety tools on the site of construction helps them to avoid the
accidents risks, mishappenings at the workplace.
TASK 5
Evaluate the impact of health and safety legislation, how it has evolved the drivers for it, and its
advantages or weaknesses within construction.
The impact of UK health and safety legislation act 1974, are relates with the health and
safety of workers at workplace which is also called as HSW(health and safety at workplace). It
refers to the responsibility of manager to take care of their workers health and safety and that can
be offering secure enviroment of working, utilization of effective tools, provides safe tools and
equipments, regular trainings (Zhang, Cao and Zhao, 2019).

Advantages
Secure place for work: This reserves the materialistic workplace in order to check that
premises are up to date. It involves concren about cleanliness, management of waste,
safety from fire, and any other harmful objects.
Risk Assessments: Risk assessment is an essential section of heath and safety so, that
workers firstly set in place for effective preventative move for identification of risk. Risk
is a main concern because if at a very low risk something identified and incur in valuable
cost to mitigate, it might not require any kind of action.
Challenges
