INTRODUCTION
Skills and knowledge are required to accomplish any desired task, when an individual has
the perfect knowledge and skills required for the job, he/she completes it with efficiencies.
Similarly, to acquire relevant skills and knowledge in order to achieve future career goals is
important. For a site manager there are different set of skills and knowledge that helps to
complete the desired work. This report covers skill developed, learnings from the projects,
confidence level, how these the learnings acquired helps to accomplish future career goals,
identify the skill gap and how to fill these skill gap by preparing career action plan (Busso and
et.al., 2017).
TASK 1
Skills developed or enhanced by the end of the project
For accomplish the future career goal as site manager, I need to develop my skills and
competencies to get employment for the desired job role. Skills and knowledge acquired during
the project, includes orientation capacity, teamwork, sociable, responsible. These skills play an
important role as it gives an idea that how the work is going to monitored and conducted in
actual work conditions. The skills I acquired are detailed as:
Teamwork: Teamwork is crucial for coordinating different efforts and accomplish the group
goals. As a site manager, rather than focusing on individual I need to concentrate on pulling out
group efforts in order to attain the desired objective at given deadline.
Responsible: I need to be responsible and accountable for my work, where I should ensure the
transparency in the work and make sure each individual in the team is completing the task as per
the determined working standards (Carvalho, 2016).
Sociable: Sociable is the skill which means to take concerns of employees in the workplace so
that they feel comfortable in the workplace by addressing their issue and concerns pertaining to
the work.
Orientation capacity: Orientation skills are required in order anticipate the changes required in
the work. I learnt that how orientation skills help to formulate important business strategies for
different workplace scenarios.

Learnings from the project
Learning that I acquired from the project are discussed as:
Communication: Communication is an important tool which is required to convey the
objectives to different individuals of a team. Without communication, there is chaos and
conflicts in the workplace as employees misinterpretate the objectives of the work. Site manager
needs to develop effective communication in the workplace in order to make sure that work is
been completed within the desired standards.
Cost estimation: Cost estimation is required in order to estimate the cost undertaken in the
construction. Site manager needs to estimate the desired work is completed with the available
resources and funds (Chu and et.al., 2021).
Responsibility: Site manager needs to responsible in order to ensure that there is proper health
and safety in the workplace. He/she needs to shoulder different responsibility and decision
making skills to solve the problems faced in the work.
IT skills: A good site manager is also good at IT skills to use different technologies and keep the
record of actual workflow that how a work needs to completed as per the deadline. It also helps
to store information regarding relevant information related to the project.
How have you improved your confidence level?
As communication is very important to deliver the right message to different individuals
and for effective communication, I need to have confidence when I speak, thus in order to
improve my confidence level, things that I took care of are as:
Interaction: I have started interacting with my co-workers and other employees, interacting
helps to me develop a sense of belongingness and maintain a relationship among the employees.
Interaction helps me to boost confidence and develop effective communication in the workplace
(Kim and Lundberg, 2016).
Professional development training: By attending the professional development training
courses, I am able to learn that how to communicate with employees and learnt to speak
confidently in a workplace.

Boost knowledge: I acquired all the relevant knowledge and information for my job role. So,
that I have complete knowledge about job role. Furthermore, having complete information will
help me to be confident to different workplace scenarios where I would be able to make range of
important decisions of how to complete any task, solve problems in the workplace, all these will
help me to enhance my confidence level (Larraz, Vázquez and Liesa, 2017).
How can you se the learnings that you acquired from the project in the future career
Learnings that I acquired from the project that will help to accomplish my future career
goals as:
Responsible: As I want to be site manager in future career goals, I need to shoulder different
responsibilities, decision making related to important business policies, project management, on
site project execution, cost estimation, labour welfare, engineering etc.,
Teamwork: Teamwork is an important skill which helps to coordinate the efforts of employees
in the workplace, for on-site work, the site manager has to ensure proper team in the workplace
in order to attain the project objectives.
Sociable: Sociable hereby means that a manager has to be sociable in order to take the concerns
of employees and address the issues faced by all the employees in the workplace.
Orientation capacity: Orientation capacity means that the manager should ascertain decision
making and problem solving skills in different workplace scenarios. As I have to be site
manager, thus orientation capacity will help me to take important decision in order to make sure
that the work is going as per determined objectives (Ngang and Chan, 2015 ).
TASK 2
Determine three skill gap that require to developed in order to accomplish future career goals
The skills gap that I faced during the project learnings are as:
Communication: Though I am able to improve my communication skills by acquiring
knowledge based on my project. But I only have good command over my written communication
and I lack verbal communication due to which I am unable to deliver the right project objectives
which I learnt in my project.

Decision making: For being a site manager in the future career, I have to be good at decisions
making where I would have to require make different on the spot decisions to different scenarios.
But, I am not able to analyse the different situation and make proper decisions (Pan and Seow,
2016).
Teamwork: Teamwork is a crucial factor, I was the team leader of my project, due the lack of
team working skills where I was unable to coordinate the efforts of different individuals in my
team and everyone were doing their own things which brought chaos and confusions in the
project (Plant, Barac and Sarens, 2019).
Prepare the action plan for filling these gaps
Action Plan: Action plan is being prepared in order to analyse the grey areas of an
individual while in the workplace, it determines what all are the measures taken by the individual
in order to improve it with the date of accomplish of each of the following desired outcome.
