INTRODUCTION Every business organisation wants to expand its business operations which requires skills and expertise of business consultant. Business consultants helps company to take effective decision which will eliminate obstacles that are coming in the way of success. It plays a crucial role in defining success for business enterprise. Business consultation practice starts from identifying customer needs and wants along with emerging technologies. Many companies face difficulties in opting the right approach will would help in expansion. By hiring expert business consultant, company can identify its gaps and remedies to fill those gaps. This project report will cover reflection of skills that I have gained through this project. Further it will cover what are the new things that I have encountered with, level of confidence improved. At last it will cover three skill gaps that re required to fill along with job description and CV. TASK Skills that I have developed in this project There are various skills that I have gained while working on this project. This skills can be use in my future career and it promotes my self-confidence and increase productivity. Following are some skills that I have developed. Critical thinking skill – While working on this project I have developed critical thinking skill as I can take effective decision. This project helps me in enhancing my critical thinking skill as I can deeply go and identify issue or concern and based on that finally opted best alternative in order to solve that issue. This is an important strategy which help me in solving various issues of my personal as well of professional life. Team management skill- As I am working on this project with my team and have responsibility to manage my team. This helps me in enhancing team building spirit and can effectively manage my team in future too. I have provided an open platform to share their view and opinions which makes me a good leader. This skill makes easier to work and allows to share ideas. My team mates feel valued while working in team and thus enhances their productivity. Their efforts will directly affect company’s growth and promotes successful completion of project. Time management skill – This is one of the most important skill that I have developed. I have provided with a certain task to be completed in less time. Earlier I was not sure that
I would not complete within time but later I am able to finish before time. This makes me confident as I can do any critical task with effective managing time. I can manage my time and activities by making a schedule and regularly checks deadlines fort short task. What do you know now that you didn’t know at the start of the process? In the starting of this business I am not aware about the use of technology. I am not aware about digital tools that can bring efficiency to project. Technology helps in attracting new customers and retaining existing customers. It has the ability to capture a larger market and promotes expansion of company. It provides various digital tools that can be used in effective manner and allows companies to wider its horizon. I have come to know about social media and how it cana be used to engage more customers. It is the cheapest and most effective tool to attract customers in a short period of time. Consulting firms can run flashy and eye catching campaigns which attracts business in order to hire for making their business more efficient. Level of confidence improved The reason behind my appointment as a consultant in the university is to expand its business. With the appointment , it helps me in generating multiple skills and the main skill that I acquired from it is enhancement in the confidence level. In my initial phase I was not much confident about the work and the task as matching the deadline with the project was challenge for me, but anyhow I managed and took the whole responsibility on me and make sure that I complete that project before the dead line. In the time of analysation it was found out that I made some mistakes but that can be rectified in order to expand the business. In my working there are many projects and the challenge is that there are limited resources with the limited finances. But I am confident that I will complete my project in time with handling these hurdles. The whole working scenario of completing projects builds confidence in meand with the gaining confidence I managed my work. As by completing projects, I came out to be more confident in handling challenging situation and in taking right action. Use of learning in future In process of building many skills that helps me in my future and career now I can effectively and efficiently undertake the teams and provides them environment that supports in their growth. In working with my team mates a acquired a team building spirit. It makes me understand the importance ofteams and how it contributes inachieving desired goals. The contribution that
team members made are irreplaceable. The time when I am handling multiple teams ,my generated skills helps me in completing my projects with that it results in increment in my productivity. It gives me sense of understanding that it is required to bind the team togetherin terms of attaining goals as per expectations. Improper management of the teams makes the teams useless and the goals cannot be achieved properly. If in future I will face any situation that is difficult to handle , in that situation I will use my critical thinking skill. I will initially analyse the base of the problem and then all the possible solutions that is available and at last I will take decision as per according to the problem and to make it resolve. When I was working on this project I analysed that I have faced different problems in many aspects that needs improvement in term to make enhancement in my productivity and my individual performance. Following are the skills that I needed to improve: Commercial awareness-This is the skills that makes huge importance of it in the managing things. I am lacking in this skill as sometimes I am not aware of the market place on which business operates. As it is essential to be successful in terms of team and project handling. In commercial awareness it is important to understand the sector in which business is working and how much political and economicalissues are affecting the business. Stress management- It proves to be major important skill in managing things. As when I am stressed out I am not able to focus on my work because deadline makes me stressed out. This make major impact on my workand affects on my productivity. Whenever I face such situation I makes mistakes and its reflect in my actions.. As I have the responsibilities on me, its not right for me to be stressed out.
