INTRODUCTION
Brief introduction about CIP and Definition
Consulting refers to the practice of providing the third party with the expert advice and
the services that includes advices and ways for implementation of the services. It also refers to
the practice of giving advice to a person of group of person in a particular field. It requires
special skills and knowledge in order to suggest any person which results into implementation of
these services which can also lead to growth of the business(Costa, and et.al., 2022). The present
report is based on the reflection of the skills identified working as team in business project and
personal development plan in order to make improvements in the respective skills for achieving
the future career.
MAIN BODY
Task 1: Reflection
Reflective writing refers to observation of something or analysing and evaluating the
experiences which helps in identifying the skills and knowledge a person has which can help in
successfully achieving the goals. After working on the project with the team members, I have
gain various valuable skills and knowledge in a very less time. This whole process has been
possible because of the support and commitment towards the performance from every team
member which has helped in determining the skills. With the hard work on this project I have
realised my strengths which has helped me successfully accomplishing the project but have also
helped me in identifying my weak areas which can create a problem in achieving my career
goals(Zorina, and et.al., 2018). The skills that I acquire were leadership skills, communication
skills, problem solving skills and decision making skills. In order to attain my future career goals
it is necessary for me to have required skills and experience as every person should have the
required knowledge in order to succeed in their career. Furthermore, having the required skill
and knowledge is very important in a job in order to get promotion in higher position in the
organisation.
In addition to this I came to know that having the required skill will help me increase my
capability and also help me to maintain positive interaction with other colleagues. Furthermore, I

realised that I lack strong communication skills as it is important for an individual to survive in
an organisation and it also helps in reducing the stress. I observed that I was getting confused
while taking decisions and as a result I also lack decision making skills. One of the benefit of
having these skills that it can help me to effectively communicate with my superiors sand build
confidence while conducting meeting and giving presentations(Murray, and et.al., 2018). On the
other hand with the increase in the role of the social media it is necessary to have required
knowledge social media marketing and I was not having enough knowledge. Apart from all these
I realise that not only this I have to focus on personal development and gain more knowledge
which can help in achieving the goals and objectives and succeed in my career. After working in
a team I came to realise the importance of having these skills and further make improvement for
personal as well as professional development and also to succeed in my career and achieve my
goals.
I have understood the importance of having the required skills and knowledge and I have
further achieved the required knowledge in various areas and focused on successfully meeting
the target set by me. By continuously searching and working on these I gained expertise in the
skills and knowledge so that I can effectively apply them in my working which will help to
enhance my performance and efficiency. In addition to this my level of confidence is increased
and motivated me to learn new things for better career opportunities in the future.
After working in a team and gained a lot of experience and knowledge regarding the
challenges that we faced and overcome them I further tried to implement the required skills in
my work life. The skills and knowledge gained helped me to apply that knowledge in my job and
career which can benefit me attaining my career goals. In every company it is necessary to have
effective communication skills which also contributed in increasing the performance of the
employees in the company and maintain healthy relationship with other co- workers(Nisha, and
Rajasekaran, 2018). On the other hand making effective decision for the company helps in
further growth of the company.
On the other hand I gained effective knowledge and improved my decision making skills.
Furthermore, with the increase in the scope of the social media i gained a lot of knowledge about
the role of the online marketing(Meng, and et.al., 2019). By learning and implementing these
skills it has helped me to improve my knowledge which also helped me attain my future career
goals and give best performance in the company.

Task 2: Skill gap and Career Development Plan
In order to be more successful in the career, employees should regularly monitor the
skills they have and make continuous efforts in making it more effective which can reflect on
their performance. The skills acquired by an individual can be applied in various challenges that
are faced by the employees while doing their task. It not only helps in improving the efficiency
but contributed in personal as well as professional development. Furthermore in order to achieve
the goals, action plan with SMART goal will be a good way(Sainz, Ferrero, and Ugidos, 2019).
Working within the team i realised that I have effective critical thinking skills which I can apply
in my work and can be my strengths and on the other hand my major weakness due to which I
can face problem are the lack of communication and decision making skills. The increase in the
competition in the employment field can impact my career goals if I din’t focused on improving
my skills. The skill gaps identified is the time management skills, presentation skills and
interpersonal skills and all these are highly needed for personal and professional development.
Time management skills is one of most important element which helps the employee to
effectively organise the present the work in a given time period. It also helps in increasing the
productivity of the employees. With the help of effective presentation skills helps to effectively
present the work effectively and with confidence I can present the work to the stakeholders. With
the effective interpersonal skills an individual can influence with their behaviour and effectively
interact with other employees and managers of the company(Tsang, 2018). Interpersonal skills
also include the active listening skills which help to listen to the issues of the employees and
provide direction which encourage the employees to work.
