experience of the nurses is completely associated with the potential of recovery of an individual.
This in turn helps in better understanding in order to improve the overall outcomes of the
individual by filling the gaps in service delivery and gaining experience of the individual
suffering from mental illness. Collaborative mental health nursing is necessary in order to
enhance the capacity of primary health care by collaborating various health care professionals in
order to deliver effective mental health services. Collaborative mental health care practice is used
where all the consumers, caregivers and family members work together in order to promote
mental health services and care. Collaborative care is provided from different specialities and
professionals who work together for mutual support and offer complementary services to provide
best quality care to the individual. Isobel and Delgado (2018) said that, exercise and good
nutrition have positive impact on the mental health of the individual suffering from mental
disorders. This can be done by improving the metabolic monitoring, motivational interviewing,
nutrition and exercise which helps patient to adapt to such behaviours for better care results and
outcomes. Gaining understanding of the health care consumer experiences helps in determining
the various aspects of the patient. This helps in effectively refining the process of patient care.
Cognitive practice helps in analysing the information which are relevant for the patient care. This
will helps in taking necessary decision by understanding the decision and improving various
health outcomes. Happell and et.al., (2019) established the fact that, Inter-professional
collaboration is referred to as a partnership between various health professionals, family
members, care takers and patients. It is a collaborative, participative and coordinated approach
which results in shared decision making regarding various health issues. This helps in enabling a
synergetic influence of knowledge and skills in order to improve patient outcomes. The inter-
professional team helps to work on a common goal for better care results (The Effects of
Interprofessional Education in Mental Health Practice: Findings from a Systematic Review,
2018). This practice helps in promoting nurse consumer relationship by taking into consideration
viewpoints of various health professional and patient with mutual respect. This practice helps
nurses in experiencing better patient care, effective health outcomes and effective health care
system. Fletcher and et.al., (2019) said that, Inter-professional collaboration practice helps in
developing the understanding of health care system. Developing a collaborative nurse consumer
relationship helps nurse s in taking strategic decision and make proper plan by evaluating the
needs of the patients for better quality care outcomes.

disorders such as anxiety, anger, depression, addictive behaviour. I have assessed the mental
state of the patient and has established good communication with the health care practitioners,
patients and family members in order to identify the needs and take necessary decision
accordingly. I have provided patient centred care by integrating various values in order to
improve the quality of life. I have experienced that people with mental health tends to get angry
and anxious at small things (Gerace and et.al., 2018). This in turn affects the health and mindset
of the individual. I have excellent observational skills which helped me in taking strategic
decision. I have effectively assessed the activities carried out by the patient who is suffering from
mental illness in order to take corrective actions. I have been providing psychotherapy services
and personal care to improve the health outcomes. I have a effective communication skills which
helped me take corrective action. It also helped me in determining the various risk factors in
order to improve both mental and physical health of an individual. I have an effective time
management skills in order to timely manage all the activities in a systematic manner in order to
deliver better care services.

3. Development of own nursing practice.
Harris and Panozzo (2019) sought to establish the fact that, Nursing practice is the set of
own activities, functions, roles and responsibilities which gives nurses authority to perform by
underpinning the values in which care is provided to the patients. Nursing practice comprises of
effective and safe nursing care which in turn covers various aspects of attitude, behaviour and
approach to deliver best quality care to the patient suffering from mental issue. I have to develop
an Inter-professional collaboration practice which helps in cooperating the partnership of various
family members, health professionals, patients and care takers in order to take shared decisions
regarding various health issues. This practice will helps me in integrating effective skills and
knowledge. I have to develop effective communication and interpersonal skills in order to take
strategic decision. This helps me in understanding the needs and behaviour of the patient
suffering from mental disorders. Effective communication will help in planning the systematic
approach to control anxiety and anger of patients. I have to also effectively develop psychomotor
skills which helps in performing various physical functions of nursing with finesse and speed. I
have to undergo various practices which helps in taking strategic decision.
Pomare and et.al., (2018) said that, Inter-professional collaboration practice help nurses
in experiencing better patient care, effective health outcomes and effective health care system
which in turn results in better quality care and outcomes. I will further develop various nursing
care skills and practice by working along with skilled and experienced health care practitioners
who has treated patients with mental illness. I will focus on experiential learning to develop
better skills and knowledge. Getting involved in the mental health policies also helps in taking
informative decision at the time of critical situation (Mental health nursing, 2017). I will focus
on evaluating the mental health needs of the patient by developing effective treatment plans. In
order to give proper care to the individual I will focus on administering medications and
collaborating with health care professionals, families, doctors and caregivers. To attain better
health care results I will focus on improving the medication of the patient according to the
specific needs of the individual. I will also learn stress vulnerability model for effectively
treating mental illness. Zugai, Stein-Parbury and Roche (2015) said that, stress vulnerability
model will help nurses in investigating the influence of environmental factors on cognitive,
emotional and behaviour outcomes of individual. Development and creation of positive
environment for mental health disorders results in effective health care results and outcomes.
