Executive summary
In this study it can be concluded that conflicting values are the important concern in DeWaal
Pharmaceuticals and BioHealth. In order to ensure the proper utilization of resources,
contemporary business management initiatives are important. Analyzing the cultural situation in
both the companies, it can be said that in the business case, due to lack of attention towards
meeting the necessary value of the stakeholders, the conflicting situation has got increased. In
order to deal with the situation following different theoretical implementation in the workplace,
cultural as well as operational betterment can be ensured.

Introduction
In order to ensure the optimum utilizations of resources, the contemporary business
management tactics are being adopted (Tukhvatulina et al., 2016). In the HBR case study, two
companies namely DeWaal Pharmaceuticals and BioHealth have been highlighted. The purpose
of this study is to critically analyze the contemporary business management approaches followed
in the case study and examine the conflicting values show in the case study. Analyzing the
conflicting values, the recommendations have been provided that can significantly impact on
conflict managing situation.
Analysis
Analyzing the internal culture of both the companies, it has been identified that in case of
DeWaal Pharmaceuticals, it has been that in the business decision making process, involvement
off individuals are being considered as the effective way for exchanging the ideas. In order to
deal with the conflicting situation, the company basically focuses on the negotiation approach
rather than the aggressive problem solving approach. It cannot be ignored that in DeWaal
Pharmaceuticals, existence of stressful working environment create stress on the employees,
however, it is also true that due to positive culture in the workplace, employee engagement is
quite high. On the other hand, employee dissatisfaction is comparatively high in BioHealth.
Analyzing the cultural situation in both the companies, it can be said that in the business case,
due to lack of attention towards meeting the necessary value of the stakeholders, the conflicting
situation has got increased(Tukhvatulina et al., 2016 ). It cannot be denied that stakeholders
make the important contribution in business operational process, however, the major conflicting
situation which has been mentioned in the case developed due to destroying the stakeholder
