INTRODUCTION
Developments of the business and management is the effective ideas, opinions and
suggestion which leads to the success and growth of the company in the future and present
condition of the market. The developments of the business and management is essential to
increase the revenue, expansion of the business in the global markets and increase in the level of
the profits of the company. This report evaluates the development strategies of the Scottish and
southern energy plc (SSE) company which is the largest company of gas production in the UK.
The headquarter of the SSE is at the Perth, UK which provides the variety of services related to
the gas in the market. Different external factors which influences the effectiveness of the
company in the market are explained in this file. In this file there is determination of the different

Political factors: The strategies and policies of the business are highly influence when
there is changes in the policy of the tax, trading and tariffs. The SSE plc provides the advantages
to the government of UK by developing the new power station of fiddler's ferry which
contributed large number of electric energy so that the government of the UK (Granz, Henn and
Lutz, 2020). The success and growth of the business is depend on production of the gas which
helps the government of the increasing the gas in the greater extent in the UK.
Economical factors: This factor affects the total demand, supply, investments and the
environment of the business of SSE plc by changes in the interest rates, inflation rates, GDP and
present economic stage. This will increases the profits of the company at the higher rate and
sometime leads to the loss of the company also. By the development of the new station of the
power and products of the markets of the power SSE plc will contributed largely to the economy
of the UK. The company will employees 19,200 people in their business operation and will helps

to maintain the economic stability of the country by reducing the rates of the unemployment.

Social factors: It involves the thoughts, attitudes and beliefs of the people plays an
important roles in the business of the SSE plc because the marketers make the plan and strategies
as per the different culture of the customer (Moritz and et.al., 2020). They have to face lots of
problem related to the pressure of the social demands so it will influence their large size
business. They introduces the various kinds of rewards and profits for the employees who works
for the betterment of the society in the business. They production of the gas in the company will
done to make sure that the health of the people and environment are not affected in the society.
Technological factors: SSE plc makes changes in the business activities by changing the
existing technology with the new and advanced technology. To increase the supply of the gas
and energy there is need of the effective technology in the business. The use of the new
technology will makes the work easier and faster. The advantages of the competitors is increases
by developing the technology in the business operation of the SSE plc.

Threats of new entrants: In the business of the SSE plc the threats of the new entrants is
very because it creates difficulty for the other company to achieve the cost advantages. For the
new entry in the market the production of the gas and energy is requires high amount of money
to compete with the SSE plc (Zakrzewska-Bielawska and Staniec, 2020). For operating the
business of the production of the gas government imposes various restriction so the new entrants
will requires the licence so it is difficult for the new companies to join the business of the
generation of the energy and gas. The company fulfils the need and wants of the people by
introducing the new station of power in the country by giving response to the changes and
impacts of the new entrants.
Threats of substitute products: The availability of the substitute products and services
in the business of the SSE plc is low because they have the best quality products and services in
there business. But in the current days the substitutes of the products are increasing so it will
creates the greater chances of the problems in the business of the SSE plc.
Suppliers: It involves the high bargaining power of the suppliers of the SSE plc because
the focus of the suppliers is on the particular areas which is more then their buyers. So the
company always gives the greater preference to the suppliers by satisfying them with the

additional advantages of the prices. When the suppliers identify the other company which gives
the effective advantages to them then they will move towards them so the authority of the SSE
plc will try to maintain their supplier by providing various benefits.
Buyers: The bargaining power of the buyer is high in the SSE plc it determine that there
is the large number of customer in the market and they wants effective quality, better services of
and affordable prices (Gordon, 2020). This company is very famous and they supply the energy
of gases to the households and the local government of the country.

company faces in the market so in the business of the SSE plc there is the low rivalry of the
existing companies. In the market of the production of the gas there are very limited companies
in the country. They introduces various innovation and creativity in the business operation which

In this task the focus is given to the corporate social responsibility and sustainability of
the SSE plc which determine the responsibilities of the business towards the society and
environment. The practices and policies of the business is made on the basis that they do not
harm the environment and protect the society (Butt, 2020). SSE plc makes the effective relation
with the community, buyers and stakeholders which helps them to increase the advantage of the
business in the long run from the business operations.
1. How it will affects the strategies and decision making policies of the organisation.
The policies of the corporate social responsibilities and sustainability are the very
important for the success and the growth of the business in the future and present situation of the
society. The company is responsible for the well-being of the society and environment in their
business activities. SSE plc makes their plan and policies of the business in they provides the
employment to the various number of the people of the country which makes them responsible
for the betterment of the society (Lis, 2020). This will reduces the level of the unemployment in
the society and maintains the good and effective image of the brand in the minds of the customer.
The sustainability and CSR will helps the company to take the effective decision in the business
operation which leads to the goals and objectives of the business.
The policies of the corporate social responsibilities and sustainability influences the
strategies and decision making of the SSE plc are explained below:

Effectiveness of the stability: It determines that the company have the stability in the
environment with the increase in the profits, and revenue of the company. The policies of the
CSR will changes the decision of the SSE plc so that they will makes the decision in the business
to maintain the stability in the business operations.
Satisfaction and retention of customer: To achieve the target of the business there is
need to achieve the level of satisfaction of the customer towards the brand and it is possible only
when the company is socially responsible. SSE plc produces the gas and energy with the aim to
protect the health of the people and affects positively the environment, customer employees etc
(Hirschmann and Moritz, 2020). The company makes their strategies and policy of decision
making will improve the satisfaction of the customer by providing the sustainable gas to them.
Access to funding: To adopts the CSR policies in the business requires the large
investment which affects the budget of the company. So to change the policies of the decision
making in the business of the SSE plc as per the responsibilities towards the society which leads
to the achievement of the objectives in the long term. The focus of the investors is on the how the
company is responsible towards the society.
Retention and recruitment of employees: SSC plc makes the strategies to appoint the

means there is no negative affects on the economy, community and environment of the country.
They make the effective plans in which they keeps the clean and less polluted by the business.

3. Areas for improvements in the organisation.
In the business of the SSE plc there are various areas which require improvement so that
the business will easily accomplish their goals and objectives. The organisation have to pay the
high attention on the local and global problems because the production of the gases is more from
the CO2. They provide the good knowledge to their workers so they concentrate about the
problems which is related to the global issues.
To make the good society the company will need to hire the more and more employees
ion their business. By recruiting the people SSE plc will contributes towards the achievement of
the activities of the corporate social responsibilities and sustainability.
SSE plc have to improve the strategies and policies of the business so that they could
reduces the problems related to the competitors in the market (Temizkan and Cankul, 2020). By
regular involving in the activities of the CSR will makes the good image of the company and
saves the company from the issues of competitive markets.
The company also have to maintain the good working environment for the employees so
that it will increases their morale and they works efficiently. The safe and secure atmosphere of
the office will improve the performance level of the employees. Treating all the employees
equally in the company so that the people will not get demotivated while working in the SSE plc.
Proper management time in the working of the SSE plc will also be improved by
introducing the new strategies and policies in the business (Kasemsap, 2020). By managing the

time which will improve the quality of work and leads to fast achievement of the objectives in
the business.
Improving the process of production of gases in the business without any use of the
harmful products which helps to protect the health of the people. They make the better world by
producing the energy which gain the advantages in the future and current business. SSE plc
adopts the new and advanced technology in their workplace which will not harm the
environment and makes the business effective.
In the working operation of the SSE plc there is need to organises the programmes of
recruitment and selection which brings the talented and skilled people in the business. These
skilled and talented people have the effective qualification so that they make efforts to achieve
the target of the company (Vaslavskaya, 2020). The new people have the ability and capability to
make the business sustainable in the future so that it will expand the company at the higher level.
They bring the new ideas and innovation which makes the work faster and are responsible
towards the society.

From the above study it can be concluded that the political, economic, social and
technological factors are affects the effective business of the company as per the changes in the
market. These external forces increase the profits of the company but at the same point if there is
the adverse changes in the environment will also increases the chances of loses. Each and every
company are responsible for the betterment of the society so they make the effective plans and
policies in the business which will makes the society and better and achieve the target and goals
in the future. The company have to adopts the techniques of the production which protect the
environment and also the health of the people living in the country. Different policies and
practices of the CSR will influences the decision making policy of the company and achieve
business objectives in the near future. The company improve various areas in their business
activities which helps them to reach the success in the future.
