INTRODUCTION
Hospitality industries consist of broad category of fields in the sector of service industry.
Their purpose is to serve its guest the best services which delivers lasting experience through
which profitability gets rises. Thus, this report will articulate the broad understanding of
hospitality operations, their nature and structure within the scope. Chosen organization for this
report is Radisson blue Edwardain which comes under the collection of luxury hotel in central
London and which deals in providing the luxury services without pretension. Moreover, this
report will articulate the scope, scale and diversity of hospitality industry with global perspective
and then discussion will develop on the management and structure of different hospitality
organisation in accordance with own experience. Further, explanation will provide on the role of
professional bodies related to this sector of organisation. Other than this, emerging trends in
demand and supply for organisation in this staff will get evaluated in order to meet their
requirements with appropriate examples.
Moreover, this report will also articulate the skills and qualifications required for the
personnel in accordance with the roles and responsibilities of staffs and recent development
which affect operations of industry in legal areas. Further, explanation will develop on
management of hospitality industry in order to create a good image. Other than this, potential
trends and development in this sector with the justified prediction and impact which affect

here i am going to explain about radisson blue Edwardian known as grafton in London warren
street. Its ranked by 4 star, has so many facilities including 24 hour help desk, room service,
effective wifi services , currency exchange, live sport, baggage storage, flower
arrangements ,audio and video conferencing and steak and lobster etc (source Radisson blue

restaurants there are many other segments which are included in this sector such as travel and
tourism, events, self catering etc. In regards with UK the business of this sector is huge because
of which businesses which are engaged in these businesses easily able to achieve market growth.
In this sector there are many elements of diversity which includes elements like skin color,
ethnicity, gender, education, age, sexual orientation, economic background, beliefs, culture
religion etc (Aschemann-Witzel, Giménez and Ares, 2018). In terms of scale, it is been found
that the 3rd largest sector under which there are huge workforce include is in hospitality, leisure,
travel and tourism and in UK there are approximately 89% of workforce engage, 43% of self
catering accommodation, holiday parks and hotels are included.
In accordance with the scale and diversity aspect, it is analyzed that this is one of the
fastest growing division of firms across the global world. The most beneficial business of this
sector is travel and tourism because technological advancement has helped industry in achieving
huge success in business market of global world (Hon and Lui, 2016). The hotel industries over
the past few years is achieving a tremendous growth it is because industries nowadays focusing
more on enhancing customer experience through which travel also gets rise. According to a
market statistics, it is been revels that hotel industry is one of the primary sectors which mainly
constitute over 30% of market value. Advancement in technology is one of most basic factor
because through which there has been a rise in global hospitality sector.
The hospitality industry is wide and very diverse industry including hotels, bar, night clubs,
catering services, membership clubs and all goods and services. According to SI-UK(2016),
hiring over 60 million people worldwide, due to the diversity and demand hospitality economies
forecast to grow to 2.66 million direct jobs. Radisson blu is globally recognized as unique
heritage of design, innovation and services.
The scope of the hospitality industry refers to the range of business that provide services
and facilities. The hospitality economy is one of the country’s key industries with huge growth
prospects in jobs. The standard industrial classification(1968) defined it as establishments

whether or not licensed for the scale of intoxicating liquors, light refreshments, drinks or
accommodation. Further more people are travel from one country to another country, place to
place for leisure, entertainment, business purposes which means they spent money in the

1. Culture exchange: Hospitality industry teaches us about the different religious as well
as different culture, such as in the same hotel people meet people from different
country and religion so this way they may exchange their culture and thoughts
directly.

It is fact that hotels are mainly varied in size and their types because of which their
organisational structure depends on the types of services and amenities which they offered to
their consumers who visits in hotel. In basic all hotels divided their business operations into two
basic categories that are administrative and guest operations.
Full-service, Resort or luxury:
Organisation which have business operations with large and full-service generally
maintains extensive organisational structure in order to quickly meet the needs and desired of its
guests (Mahal, 2018). These are the type of hotels which utilise large management staff which
include general manager, hiring manager and managers of its catering, restaurant, housekeeping,
sales and marketing departments.
Limited service hotels:
These type of hotels did not require extensive organisational structure, they mainly
operate with smaller and more diversified staffs (Carver, 2019). Such organisational structure
mainly depends on quality competence and hierarchy of its staff.

In accordance with the case study of Redission Blue, entity is following extensive
organisational structure which have at the top pyramid hotel's Chief Executive officer,
underneath the CEO is management staff which headed by hotel general manager which will
oversees all business operation, then assistant manager will help in myriad duties and
supervision.

pounds. The travel and tourism is one of the world’s largest industries with global economics.

1. British hospitality association(BHA) : BHA is the main professional bodies in UK.
The BHA is leading organization in the hospitality industry. BHA has formatted
between 1907 to 1910, by now they have more than 40000 memebers and head
quarter is in London UK. It also representing more than 700 companies and employs
2.9 million people in the UK hospitality.
2. Confederation of tourism and hospitality(CTH): This institution was established in
1982 as a specialist professional awarding body in the UK with future aims. CTH
helps to provide progression in hospitality, travel ,and tourism certificates in diploma,
advanced diploma , professional diploma and bachelor’s degree programs. High
quality, academic robust , highly relevant are strategic vision of CTH.

In accordance with recent report by hospitality skills and workforce development it is
estimated that this sector still needs 993,000 staff by the year 2022 where 870,000 people needed
for replacing existing staff (Sheehan, Grant and Garavan, 2018). It because employers are not
getting skilled workforce who are able to provide effective and valuable services to guests who

visits in organisation. A study which shows number of people employed in hospitality industry is
as follows-
According to new release it had been evaluated that the average number of people
working in food service and accommodation sector got fallen from the previous year. It drops
with 1% because now entities are in demand of people who have high skilled values which are
able to provide effective services through which customer needs get satisfied. Current trend
includes effective services where each and every food item will explain to customer so that
he/she can easily able to understand easily. Innovative staff will require nowadays through new
creativity gets developed.
According of tourism board London, in 2015 , around 12 billion pound spent in
hospitality industry, however they forecasted more than that. We know if there are more demand
of rooms and other services , supply of staff have to be balanced. According to bar chart, in
Radisson hotel the rooms were consumed rate were slightly increased from 2014 to 2016, after
that almost stayed in same level and will be estimated next year too due to brexist issues and
other competitors hotel.

One of the most critical factor which affect supply and demand hospitality industry is
their poor image. It is because the reality is this that hospitality organizations are dominated by
small businesses where large exploitation, degrading, poor payment, unpleasant environment
will get see by employment which mainly affect the demand and supply of staff in UK.
Employee expectations are the other factor which influence supply of staff.

countries. Many UK major political and social institution demonstrate brexist would effect in
mainly UK hospitality industry. Additional work permit system and law of immigration process
are more complicated than before. This not only effect of skill worker but also negative impact in
health and safety. A current shortage of skilled positions such as , chefs in restaurant or hotel no
doubt be made worse.

industries , thus they have to be under control of management bodies and law. From small

UK travel and tourism board forecast for increase of 15% GDP by next 2 year.The hospitality
industry is the 4th biggest employer in the UK. This industry made over 73 billion pound of gross
value directly and 87 billion pound indirectly on UK economy( from BHS report).
Management structure of Radisson hotel of uk:
Its board of directors include Jasminder singh, who is certified accountant and entered in
the hotel industry in 1975. Amrit singh is the another director who is responsible for the interior
design function for the group. SM shah is a certified accountant which mainly responsible for
setting up accountancy practises (Schuckert, Liu and Law, 2015). Vijay Wason is the company
secretary of organization and Robert Morley is responsible for managing property finance. Its
operational board includes general manager, operation director, commercial development
director, managing directors, commercial director, accountant and chartered secretary etc.

Now day’s hospitality sector has been widely impacted to the public in term of the
service provided. Customers like to get the services as fast as they can and luxurious facilities, to

However there are many competitions on the market to provide the luxurious services, to
compete with the market the hotel management should have given to the customer offer and
benefit to attract the customer (Karatepe and Karadas, 2015). For example Radisson hotel has
given to the customer fast booking service like online booking and 24 hours customer help desk
to be generated quick and effective ways. Also they have different language customer service
facilities to be easy to communicate for foreigners. Radisson hotel are mostly situated in prime
location of the London and all over United Kingdom compare to the other hotels which has
saved the valuable time for the important customers.
In the present time they have been technological innovations that have helped to make
customer life more flexible. First will be the introduction of intelligent hotels that will employ
advanced technology where guests will be required to use fingerprints in order to perform all
their operations in the hotel or hospitality sector. The smooth operation of the organization will
require satisfied employees, and this will mean an increase in the employee salaries so that the
staff can be retained (Zhao and Ghiselli, 2016). The new trends will also include more green and
eco-lodgings and the development of mega hotels that will be having multi-purpose facilities that
will not miss the casino, theatre and even theme parks.

1. Political trends: according to the low of country and taxation policy the hospitality sector
has highly effected.
2. Social trends: mostly foreign peoples bring their social value and cultures to another
place which helps to develop the customer social knowledge and harmony.

4. Cost value trends: peoples expenses behaviors depends on their income so when they
have more income than they are more likely to spend more money and look for the best
and luxurious hotels. Very common things are consumer want to achieve quality of the
service and product according to their cost.
P4.2: Produce an impact analysis for the predicted trends
From small to large hospitality industries , there are several things which play significant
role to become successful. Firstly we can say the trend of modern hospitality is likely global, in
the world mostly all industries more or less using similar technology , similar services however
some private industries have own system and strategy (Lashley, 2018). Here is some numerical
factors which is highly effected in hospitality sectors and will be forecasted also;
 Operational factors : this factor is prime, it includes all internal and all staffing ,
controlling , health and safety. Especially global hospitality had started already how to
improve service quality, levels of productivity , ecommerce , outsourcing, social culture
issues ,financial stability etc.
 Staffing : this factor play crucial role , in hotel , restaurants, pubs, bars, resorts, night
clubs , everywhere there are different type of staff. According of their qualifications
divided managerial , supervisory, skilled/semi skilled, unskilled ,casual or part time ,
direct or from agency etc.
 Managerial and technology : well management and effective using of new technology is
always equal important in all hospitality industries (Cozzio and et.al., 2018). For example
new coming gadgets will work in Radisson blu like this way, one touch app collects all
the information about the meeting and other benefit of host of participation.

make virtual environment for global travelers and the impact of technology.
 New management; the way of using new technologies and management replace the
traditional system. Utilizing assets and capital, capacity of control, effective safety and

 Overall images : through using effective budgeting plan , technology and legislation/
regulations , every hospitality sectors can be successful. The future trend will be fully
depends on these elements ,marketing plans and media.

 The current trend in Radisson blu is regarding the technological adoption because there
are more and more technologies in market because of which entities are achieving
customer satisfaction (Khan and et.al., 2018). Recognition technology is one among them
under which hotel rooms facial recognition gets developed for unlocking the rooms.
Cloud based operation management is also a current trend which followed by Radission
blu in order to facilitate inter staff communication.
 Well structured hospitality sectors will be forecasted about plans and pricing, understand
what customers want tomorrow, find and organize own way with new strategies. On the
other hand , new management, integration, ownership vacation , diversity of franchise ,
nation’s regulations etc elements will impact all hospitality industries significantly.
CONCLUSION
It can be concluded that, all hospitality industries are running and able to achieve all their targets
in the United kingdom. In past few years , there were economics recession mainly from 2008 to
2011 hence this industries were highly effected but now we may say proudly this sectors
growing and able to increase revenue sharply. From large hotels(ex Radisson blu) to small
restaurants and from local pubs to night clubs all are in diversity by economically, politically ,
social cultural value and national law. Including BHS and other British hospitality organizations
expected that , in next few year this industries will make significant contribution of Britain’s
economy therefore, effective budgeting management, controlling, leading skills, communication
skills, low cost plan, time management plan and staffing (division by skill and qualifications) are
crucial in every hospitality industries.
