INTRODUCTION
Hospitality industry plays an important role in every business environment. The main aim
of this report is to create awareness among people about it. The present report deal with the
current image of Marriott in UK which offer number of facility to its customers such as pubs,
bar, spa, pool, theme park for children, proper room service etc. It focuses on current scale, scope
and diversity of the Marriott in UK. The report also presents an organizational structure of
different hospitality sectors such as five star hotel and theme park. It also assess the role of
hospitality related organizations and professional bodies. The report also raises awareness about
staffing which includes their basic requirement, roles and responsibilities and qualification etc.
The report presents operational, managerial and legislative issues which result from recent
developments that affect the hospitality industry. It also presents the current image of hospitality
sector in UK. The report focuses on justified prediction for potential trends and development and
produces an impact on this sector.

1.1 Current scale, scope and diversity of hospitality industry
Scale: the current scale of hospitality industry is wide and vast. The sector provides
number of facility to people such as room services, bars, spa and resorts etc. Currently Marriott
contribute the huge amount to economy and increases the GDP of UK (Xu, Ye and Chan, 2018).
Its total turnover is about$201 million and the revenue increases up to 7.7 percent during a year.
As per the data available, hotel industry generates more than £19 million and contributed a huge
amount of services. Marriott has more than 566 hotels in all over world and it is assumed that
London is a major market for hospitality industry because it develops its operations for their
customers.
Scope: the scope of hospitality industry is wide in UK because according to survey it is
count as the fourth leading country of the world in hospitality sector that helps in the economic
sector and is the only reason of its wide scope in world. Different types of ownership are
provided in hospitality sectors such that private owned hotels, leased hotels; some are based on
franchise etc. As per the data available, hospitality industry contributed in direct employment
and in 2017 more than 9.6 million jobs are provided to the unemployed person which is the
greatest achievement (Sheehan, Grant and Garavan, 2018).
