Obesity: This means that a state of being overweight or fat. Its a
very common problem in UK, around one in every four adults
and round one in every five children aged between 10-12 are
obese (Scanfeld, Scanfeld and Larson, 2010). Obesity means
your Body mass index (BMI), is in between 30-39.

Cause of Obesity: This is caused by the imbalanced between
energy consumed and energy expenditure.
• Energy consumed means the energy which we are taking in
through eating, and energy consumed means the energy what
is used by the body.
• Obesity is due to consuming fatty and sugary foods.
Risk of Obesity: Obesity can cause some serious and life
threatening conditions such as diabetes, heart diseases, some
cancer and strokes as well.
• Obesity can reduce the life expectancy of individuals.

Different perspectives gleaned from reliable sources on specific
health and social issues
UK's population is increasing and its becoming very large day by
day and they are mostly belong to ethnic minorities' means those
people will be having different nations, different culture and
traditions. The local health care organization will not provide
them proper care and support related to the health issues they are
facing.

Government of UK has done a great job with respect to the health
services, they have taken many initiatives in order to protect the
health of the citizen. The government understand the issues
related to health like diabetes, cancer, obesity etc. So they are
making sure that all citizens must be provided proper services
and proper information related to health issues and social
awareness (Obesity in the UK, 2015).

• Relevance of the findings to health and social care practice
locally
• The information gathered by NHS and the government of UK,
regarding obesity is from various surveys, journals, interviews
and that information is used by various skilled and qualified
professionals and by using this data, all the patients are
provided with proper medication and proper services.

different college levels because they have to provide proper
training so that the effect of obesity can be reduced in UK.
This will also help in solving the issues which are related to
ethnic or cultural diversities of the population in UK.

can give proper guidance and proper steps which has to be

different perspective of peoples.

which give rise to different perspective in enhancement of

understanding toward the health problem which they are
facing at current.
