INTRODUCTIONThe hospitality industries of today are under the influence of the growing complexitiesand challenges of the contemporary world that are associated with various dimensions.Leadership and management both are the integral part of the business success as one leads theemployees and other manage the staff. Leadership and management theories and practices areuseful tool that utilise by the various organisations to improve the productivity of employees.The selected organisation in the study is OneFineStay, a hospitality company that is based inLondon. The study of contemporary leadership and management in hospitality service industryaims to evaluate the classical management theories and leadership styles and will explore variousfactors that influence management style and structure of OneFineStay. Along with it, study willassess current and future management and leadership skills in the services sector of hospitality.ACTIVITY 1: EMPLOYEEMANNUALP1. Assessing various classical managementtheories and apply this in OneFineStayClassical management theories areessential as they provide the basis for allother theories of management (Akhter andet. al., 2016). The classical approach ofmanagement is based on the belief thatemployees have only physical andeconomical requirement and social and jobsatisfaction requirements either areunimportant or does not exists. There aremainly three types of theories in classicalmanagement; Scientific management,AdministrativemanagementandBureaucratic management.Scientific managementThis theory is the study ofrelationship between the staff and task inorder to redesigning the work process toenhance the efficiency. According toFrederick Winslow Taylor, Scientificmanagement basically analyse, modify andstandardize workflow in chase efficiencyand productivity. The manager ofOneFineStay can raise the degree ofproduction by implementing this theory andalso involve this in the technological processof the service industry.Administrative managementThis developed by Henry Fayol andintroduce 14 principles. Administrativemanagement refers to six key managerialactivities such as; planning, organising,forecasting, coordinating, commanding andcontrolling. The aim of the 14 principle is to

Managementof OneFineStay can implement this theory inthe hotel to effectively manage the staff aswell as the tasks.Bureaucratic managementThis classical management theoryfocuses on the structure of an organisationby directing the process of hierarchy.OneFineStay implement this theory in theorganisational system in order to create aneffective, motivated and positive structurethat streamline the process. By adapting andapplying this management theories in theworkplace that will help the manager toresolve the streamline operational issue andalso enhance the productivity ofOneFineStay company and of its staff(Amanchukwu, Stanley and Ololube, 2015).From all the theories, Bureaucraticmanagement theory is the most effective inorder to transform in effective organisationalstructure in to an effective structure thatconsist best style of leadership and imply allthe necessary programs to boost theproductivity of employees. Explaining the role of leader and variousleadership style in hospitality industryand how it influences by digitaltechnologyDefinition of leader and managerLeader: Leader can be defined as theperson who influences his subordinates toachieve a specific objective. In other wordleader can be define as an individual wholeads, commands an organisational group.Manager:Manager can be definedas the person who manages the organisationand is responsible for planning, directing,coordinating and controlling. In simpleterms managers can be define as a personwho is responsible for administering orcontrolling an organisation.Role of leaders vs. Role of managerIn hospitality service industry, roleof leader is to instruct as well as guide thestaff. In Context of OneFineStay hotel,leader's role is to solve specific issue facedby the guests in the services and problemsfaced by staff in performing task. The roleof leader in the hotel is to communicate thenecessity of implementation of digitaltechnologies and after implementing thedigitalisation in performing and directing thefollowers.On the other hand, Role of managerin OneFineStay is to develop effective plan,manage the staff, marketing the services andadministrating hotel services.
