INTRODUCTION
In business world, every organization uses digital technology as it help company to
functioning with a sustainability and efficiency by introducing dramatic changes within
management quality of technical and decision making process (Agheli and Hashemi, 2018).
Pandemic has created many difficulties for the business organization due to which many people
had lost their jobs while some business get closed. In order to overcome from these type of
challenges, business started to uses the digital technology for instance, people start to work from
their homes (Ahmed and Le, 2021). Company chosen in this report is Sainsbury which is a
retailing company and its headquarter is located in UK. This report will be based on the impact of
information and communication technology on workforce and existing polices and management in
relation to development, talent acquisition and learning. It will also include the role of leader that
help the company to implement new initiatives.
Measure role and effect of the information and communication technology on business
management of the workforce within company
Impact and role of the Informations and communication technology can be described in
various aspects. ITC aid enterprise to take effective decision and also help them to have a
prominent way of communication within marketplace (Benard, Dulle and Lamtane, 2019). In
relation to the information and technology there are certain role and impact of this which are
discussed below:
 Information and communication technology make a business more effective, efficient and
promptly respond to the customers needs. It assist business activities such as
manufacturing, distribution, research and development, sales and feedback and many more
(Bovea and et. al. 2018).
 Technology secure the organisational transactions by protecting them form the harmful
elements that has been help in a business. By using information technology, company can
store their data safely. This practise of company build a trust among organisation and their
clients as it make feel their client's that there data and personal information are in safe
hands.

 In business, information technology help the management to work in efficient and
effective way so that business can accomplish their objectivities (Darreshiri, Khayatian
and Panahifar, 2019).
 Now business practices become more efficient through information and communication
technology as the organisational activities respond to company's customer's demands and
needs (Došilovic, Brcic and Hlupic, 2018).
 Information and communication technology has play an important role in organisation sit
help them to understand the customer's requirement (Mishna and et. al., 2021).In relation
to the Sainsbury information and communication technology help them in their effective
communication by solving their customer's problems. It also provide an access to use
social media, telecommunication and other platforms so that company can convey their
message to their employees and other people.
 After pandemic, organisation uses the technology very much s it help them in the
formation of various business activities (Khan, Sana and Arif, 2020). In context of the
Sainsbury, information and communication technology impact company's working system
after pandemic as now they start to operate their business activities through digital
technology. In organisation, management should develop different communication
strategies that help them to achieve the business target.

Talent acquisition
In talent management, its most common approach is rational approach which is adopted by
the business industry. In this approach, company recruit best and suitable candidate for the vacant
hob role. COVID 19 crisis has accelerated pre-existing talent management trend (Müller and
Antoni, 2020). To overcome from this crises, company's talent engagement has started to hiring
effetcive and efficient people. Sainsbury focus on hiring those people who can work with latest
technology as it will save the company's cost and time.
Learning and development
Learning increase the skills and knowledge of an individual while development enhance the
overall behaviour of a person (Øyen and et. al. 2018). Sainsbury's management provide the
learning and development session to their workers. As pandemic has impacted the employee's
physical and mental health, therefore, respective company facilitate some session in which they
train their employee so that they can focus on their work.
Change management
In change management, business bring various internal and external changes (Tyurikov, and et.
al. 2018). Sainsbury has introduced many new rules and policies within their organisation as now
their working styles has been changed due to the COVID 19
Role of the leader in organization in term of the implementing initiatives
At workplace, leader has played an essential role in motivation and encouraging
employees ( Ulucak and Khan, 2020). After pandemic, it become very difficult for organization
to manage their business activities, in this situation company's leader had played many roles which
are mentioned below:

 As during pandemic, organizations were conducting their working activities from home.
At this time, people are facing many challenges in their work form homes, in this situation,
company's leader had managed all the activities so efficiently that every worker fell
comfortable to work form their home.
 As Sainsbury has introduced many new technology in their organization so that they can
accomplish their goals easily. Thus, the leader of respective firm has gave their essential
contribution by making their employees to understand that how to work with these
technologies (Wang and Choi, 2019).
 After COVID 19, it was became essential for organizational to communicate with their
employees as it help to maintain a understanding between management and employees
(Wiyono and et. al.,2019). At this time leader of Sainsbury has took some initiatives in
order to make the communication effective.
Give the relevant recommendations on initiatives in COVID 19 that should be adopted by the
organization
Initiatives are he ability to assess a situation and take action in order to adders it (Wu and
Liang, 2018). Organisation can depict initiatives at work in different ways. Showing initiatives
make the manger feel more comfortable in their ability to work independently. As after COVID
19, business organisation are suffering from heavy losses, to overcome from these problems, they
have adopted many strategies (Zhang, 2019). In relation to the Sainsbury, there are some certain
recommendations that will be helpful for the company. Therefore, these recommendations are
discussed below:
 To implement initiative in the organisation, company need to provide a celerity about the
changes to its workers as without a clear guidelines it can impact the workforce negatively.
Therefore it is essential for any business that firstly they should set their goals properly and
make everyone understand by explaining them about the advantages of new initiatives.
 Company can take the initiatives by looking an an opportunity for an improvement. They
should interact with employees and get consent feedback, they could look for the pattern in
issues employees encounter. Company can uses these feedbacks in order to highlight the
weak point within organisational practtices and advocate for the positive initiatives.

 Sainsbury should provide a proper hygiene facility within their organisation. They should
bring effective guidelines related to health such as wear masks, use the hand sanitizer
before entering in the office. So that its employees will not affected by any type of harmful
diseases.
 It is advised to Sainsbury that they should develop the new technique to so that the
contact among people can be minimized. They should be a facility of robotics billing in
order to avoid the people's contact. They should follow the rule of social distancing as it
will ensure the customer that they are safe and feel free to visit stores.
 In order to reduce the crowed at workplace, Sainsbury should keep only 50% gathering of
people in at their workplace.
CONCLUSION
Form the above report it is concluded that, COVID 29 has impacted the overall business
practice vastly. During this time period, working system of business organisation become very
difficult as government has implemented many restriction. Therefore, the information and
communication technology support the business organisation to operate their working system
through online. These technology has an important role the company as it protect essential data of
the organisation form any harmful elements. In order to overcome form the crisis of pandemic,
company's need to take some imitative in their organisation. It is not so easy for organization to
implement new changes or initiative at workplace. In this situation, leader assist the organisation
in the execution of their initiative as leader make understand the employees about the advantages
of initiative. Hence it is analysed that leader is very essential for any company as they make the
business enable to accomplish their efficiently.
