Effect of COVID-19 on the sales of the Cosmetic Salons in United Kingdom
As per the thoughts of Sohrabi and et. Al., (2020), businesses across the world in
different fields including of Cosmetic Salons were going good but suddenly, in the month of
February of 2020, a serious disease was ‘discovered named COVID-19 and lead to pandemic
situation. This is an infectious disease caused through coronavirus and it is primarily spread
through droplets of saliva of the victim and carrying the virus. Till now, in order to cure this
disease no vaccines have been discovered and this is the reason why people are requested to stay
at home and maintain social distance. Moreover, it is putting an adverse impact on the
businesses. In relation with cosmetic salons were an individual needs assistance owner of the
shops and companies are facing difficulties in providing their services because in most of the
countries these services have not been open yet. During the pre-lockdown situation, the sales of
beauty products and its services increased by 24 percent but after the couple months the revenue
of beauty industry has fallen up to 35 percent after the lockdown. Thus, it can be said that over
the change of months sales of cosmetic industry decreased. Therefore, the reason being is
lockdown and safety regarding the health of an individual (Nail Care: The new ‘Lipstick Effect’
amid COVID-19 Outbreak in the UK, reports the NDP Group, 2020).
Ways Petite Nail Bar company can adopt to cope up with the decreased sales
According to the viewpoint of Barua, (2020), although, the pandemic period is a tough
situation for all of us and business owners are doing different things to cope up with the situation
so that they can increasing its sales. However, company will need to make changes in their
regular pattern of providing their services and facilities thus, they will have to be more concern
about the safety and security of customers. In relation with nail bar, even though the company is
closed but they have the opportunity to provide assistance and support their clients in their
requirements. Company can think of providing Homecare service: in this, nail bars can give
appointments to their valuable customers and following all the precautionary measures they can
help them in maintaining the salon results at home. Moreover, by seeing the increase in the
popularity of video conferencing company and use of other social networking sites, with the help
of their core service providers they can provide their assistance. As a result, this will help the
company in having a close relationship with their customers. Collaborate with suppliers: this
can prove to be an effective move because selling the products can give a rise to decreased sales.

research into the right track thus, it can be said that with the use of research approach a
philosophical foundation can be developed. Generally, deductive and inductive are the two
elements that are being considered in this but deductive approach will be undertaken for doing
this research because it will further assist in developing a relationship between two or more

Data collection method: This is considered to be the most important element of the

effective manner and sometimes it can create problem for researcher to choose any one for doing
the research, because based on the choice positive and negative impact can be gained (Gössling,
