Tourism is defined as a practice of travel for business or pleasure purpose. In simple words it is
an act of spending time away from home in order to have relaxation, pleasure and recreation.
With the help of taking use of commercial provision of services (Du, Lew and Ng, 2016).
Tourism industry is one of the leading industries around the world that directly provide services
and facilities to customers in terms of leisure, business and pleasure activities. Nowadays it has
been analysed that increase in tourism activities is causing negative impact in context of
environmental economic and social cultural aspects. It is essential to overcome the negative
aspects with the help of implementing significant strategies suggest use of sustainable tourism
measures. The present essay include discussion on the negative and positive economic impact of
tourism. Along with this essay include positive and negative environmental impact of tourism as
well as cultural impact of tourism.

region and transit route. In addition to this one has been analysed that the concept of tourism is
recognised by number of developed countries and is acting as instrument for economic
development for both emerging as well as developed economies. It has been analysed and
tourism is one of the largest industries around the world and also act as an agent of cultural and
change and a significant contributor to environmental change. Furthermore it has been analysed
that there are different types of the significant factors the development of contemporary tourism

analysed and the world is changing and it is essential for individual to adopt the manner they live
and behave accordingly. There are many form of contemporary issues that are affecting tourism
industry that are fake news, social media, technology, globalization, coronavirus, etc. It has been
analysed on social media is among one of the biggest trends that have a major impact on all
industries (Ismagilova, Safiullin and Gafurov, 2015). In this travel and tourism was not left
behind in which social media is playing important role in the manner how the industry operate
the evaluation of technology has a significant impact on social media. In this it has been analysed
and there are number development of contemplative and significance factors such as use of
technologies which is needed in order to develop contemporary tourism activities.
Tourism is one of the most important aspect of a country as it helps in increasing the
living standards of people and also benefit a nation to have opportunity for growth and
advancement. It increase chest job opportunities for number of individual that helps in increasing
per capita income of individuals in a country. However it has been analysed that there are some
certain positive economic impact of tourism such as, it helps in generating employment and
income. Another positive impact of tourism is that it helps in improvement in infrastructure such
as airport development, rail development etc (Holden, 2016). While on the other hand if it is
talked about negative impact of tourism it has been analyse that decline in traditional
employment increase in over dependency on tourism activities are some certain negative aspects
of economic impact of tourism. It is essential to effectively analyse the positive and negative
economic impact of tourism in order to implement strategies to overcome the negative aspects.
This will significantly help in taking use of positive aspects of tourism in economic planner that
helps to generate more growth opportunities in future.
It has been analysed that tourism enhanced in number of stress on local land use that can
lead to soil erosion, natural habitat loss, increase in pollution and more pressure on endangered
species. These effects have tendency to destroy the environmental resources on which tourism

tourism activities can have impact on communities in a negative manner such as ecological
damage with risk like loss of natural habitat, erosion, pollution, forest fire etc. However it has

of local natural resources as well as waste problem and pollution. Tourism activities have
significant pressure on natural resources that are gradually destroying environmental resources.
While on the other hand it has been analysed and it context with positive aspects it has been
analysed that Sustainable tourism are defined as a practice in which organization in this sector or
building and environment in where tourists come to an area and pay money for maintenance
repair of building, heritage etc. It also encourages world to enforce protection of natural
environment as it allow tourist to see many national parks, reserves, natural beauty etc (Lee,
Hampton and Jeyacheya, 2015). Furthermore it has been analysed that many countries around
the world are depend on tourism as an economic growth generation area which also offer number
of jobs to individual. This industry among one of the fastest growing industry, in this sustainable
development is playing important role in raising awareness associated to unique natural features
and providing education to visitors about sustainable management the other positive advantage
of tourism on environmental (Telfer and Sharpley, 2015). In addition to this, it helps in
developing just enable tourism initiatives such as tourism plastic initiative which helps in
mitigating the problem of plastic pollution in the industry. Sustainable tourism is creating
positive impact in terms of creating awareness providing tourism for skill learning and education,
supporting conservation and biodiversity protection activities etc.
It has been analysed that there are number of social benefits of tourism which
demonstrate positive social impact these are inclusive of preserving the local cultural and
heritage. In addition to this it has been analyse that tourism is having positive impact in terms of
social cultural such as it helps in strengthening communities commercialization of culture as well
as art. This is also having positive impact in terms of revitalization of customs and art forms and
preservation of heritage (Shafiee, Hasanzadeh and Jahanyan, 2019). Along with it has been
analysed that the positive impact of tourism is also having significant impact in social cultural
aspects such as increase in employment in earning importunity. It also aid towards infrastructure
development and enhancing standards of living tourism is one of the most important factors
which is having positive social cultural impact in terms of increase in living standards of people
and preserving natural as well as local cultural heritage. While on the other hand if it is talked
about negative impact it has been analysed that there are number of factors which are negatively
affecting such as increase in crime rate and social change and increased gambling (Sharpley and

as rules this is also having destruction of heritage as a negative impact which is affecting

overcome the negative impact in effective manner.

terms of sociocultural, environmental, economic etc. It is essential to identify the negative
outcome of tourism on social behaviour environment in economics environment and economic
aspects. This have tendency to implement strategies to further overcome them in future. This
essay analysed that tourism is having positive future economic and environmental impact if it is
done in sustainable manner. With the help of taking use of sustainable measures while
considering economic social and environmental aspects into consideration. This will help in
taking use of sustainable tourism practices that will help in having positive impact on every
