Q1. Evaluating the activities, services for contracting out
The East Side Access is a public works infrastructure project that is designed to create a new and
direct route for the commuters of the Long Island Railroad and the East Midtown Manhattan's side.
This new railway station is expected to start its service from the month of December in 2022. The
construction of this project started from the year 2018 in the month of December and they aim to
facilitate efficient railway service to the people. The purpose of the project is to relieve the congestion
of the Penn Station of New York and to facilitate easy means of rail transportation to the people. The
railway project has involved various activities such as the utilization of specialized suppliers and has
adequate managerial resources.

In order to bring about success in the project construction, the SYSTRA, an engineering consulting
group played a very major role. The SYSTRA engineers have contributed to the railroad operations
analysis and reviewed the power and signal alimentation successfully. A proper administration can be
contracted out that is required for the purchasing of raw materials at the planning stage
(Widyaningrum et al., 2018). The purchasing activity is executed from an appropriate outside
supplier.
