Introduction
The unsustainable sources of energy is the major problem facing development in the whole
world. Fossil fuels are most applied worldwide but are not sustainable since they emit CO2 gas in
the atmosphere leading to accumulation of greenhouse gases hence climate change. Renewable
friendly sources of energy such as biofuels that are friendly to the environment are needed to be
produced and applied to improve the health of environment and make it habitable to both human,
plants and animals. Biofuels are known as the liquid fuel generated from the biomass of
dissimilar forest materials, agricultural materials and some biodegradable. It is extracted from the
vegetable oil algae, bio butanol. Algae are upcoming the major source of biofuel generation in
the whole world since they are known to be safer, noncompetitive and they grow very fast.
The current most successful methods of producing bio jet fuels are fisher –tropsch processes
which involve high-temperature gasification of biomass to produce a syngas which is later
converted catalytically to hydrocarbons. Hydroprocessing of ester and fatty acid involves
hydrodeoxygenation of the vegetable oils and fatty acids and need the application of expensive
hydrogen gas. The innovation of cheap, simple, new and clean catalytic systems for Biodiesel
generation is needed
Methodology
This proposed research will focus mainly on the conversion of vegetable oils using CO2 as a
reactant into aviation fuel or biofuel. The process of converting vegetable oil into biofuel will be
investigated in many stages. The present methods of converting vegetable oil into aviation fuel
are complex. SC CO2 is preferred in extraction of oil form vegetables instead of hexanes. The
process will be performed at 80 degrees Celsius and 320 bars of pressure to get the oil leaving
protein in defatted flak Pure SO extracted will be treated using methanol and carbon dioxide as a
