INTRODUCTION
The report is going to provide understanding about the core values of people practices
within the organisation. In managing people at their best, the HR managers plays vital role in
work for the well being of the employees. Also, they are responsible to get indulge with the day
to day practice of the individuals to keep check on their performance. In the current business
world, there are many issues encounters in terms of unethical practices and not being focused on
employee well-being. These issues become reason for people exploitation and creating biasses
which is not beneficial for the companies (Bartholomaeus, and Riggs, 2020). This report is
going to provide suggestions and viewpoints to the local television production BBC. This
company was first established in 1922 in London, United Kingdom. The company is keen to put
highlights on the business issues in terms of ethical practices. Therefore, this report is going to
describe ethical practice briefing paper and other part of the report will a reflective piece which
will showcase own practice at workplace and studies. This will be able to enhance skills and
abilities.
MAIN BODY
TASK 1
Ethical principles and professional values
Ethics are itself some important values which includes all the code of conduct, integrity,
honesty. Ethics includes all the sincerity and moral terms which an individual or business must
have while working among society and public. These ethics describe the rules for what is right
and wrong at the business workplace and carry out business practices with loyalty and adherence
laws and principles. Therefore, these principles are those which provide judgements and
arguments from various perspectives and viewpoints. All the work done and people management
must be based on ethical principles. Along with these, Professional values are those which makes
an individual responsible and ethical while working. This show how they act towards others and
maintain professionalism in business environment (Byrd, 2018). The main principles are
honesty, trustworthiness, respect for others, accountability and adherence to laws. The HR
professionals are now approaching to these principals while working for the employees.
Therefore, it shows that the current television sector like BBC facing issues in working on
employees well-being and eliminate any biasses or conflicts. In their day to day experiences, the

HR professionals of BBC needs to focus on providing true information and maintain honest
relationship with employees. In the wide television sector, there are many consequences which
faces by employees regarding unethical practices at BBC. These are disrespect for low waged
workers, politics and harassments.

GDPR legislation: as per this legislation, the organisation needs to hire experts and
professional who would maintain the privacy of customers and employees. These legislation are
necessary to securely keep the data and information protected from any theft. It impacts on the
BBC company as they source huge information to present in television and needs to maintain
secrecy for both employees and viewers (Manrique-Millones, and.et.al., 2021). For example, HR
managers needs to work on hiring and recruitment activity to effectively hire professionals with
could manage all the IT software and maintain GDPR legislation.
Ethical standards and integrity: As per this code of practice, while working in the
organisation the ethical standards are necessary to work within the organisation rules and
cultural. The BBC professionals follow this code of conduct by keeping their identity secret
wherever necessary, look for others well being and does not indulge in any malpractices. They
value culture and work with different background people. For example, the HR manager needs to
look for the behaviours and work performance of the employees to check whether they are
working good towards others or not.

Ethical benefit are important for every individual in order to work with standards and

consequence, organisation conflicts and create good relations with employees.
Any unethical practice would lead to cause troubles for personal and professional
workplace of HR professionals (Omura, and.et.al., 2018). They will not be able to seek
opportunities into market which is a personal consequences. As modern workplace requires
ethical professionals in the organisation which could retain and maintain employees presence. In
professional workplaces, unethical behaviour will cause many disturbances and employees
conflicts that will impact on the organisation productivity.
Ethical approaches which will be used by HR professionals
Clarifying problems or issues: The HR manager has major role to clarify problems and
issues in ethical manner. Identifying problems with the root cause is the main ethical practice as
it would lead to providing relevant solution and does not put obligations on employees. Every
employee will need to satisfied and get justice for what they have not done. So that, the mangers
need to look ethically on the cause of situations.
Contributing views and opinions: when providing views and opinions, the HR manages
of BBC needs to first give chance to employees to give ideas. This will show an ethical practice
of managers towards employees and make them feel valued and respected.
Working in a team: While working in teams, the manages needs to maintain honesty
and respect towards others ideas. It will fulfil team goals easily and ethically. Therefore, this
shows a positive attitude towards colleagues (Schuch, and Stubbs, 2019). At the time working
on teams, the HR manager encourage participation, keep regular communication, understand
team strength and weakness and eliminate any biasses or discrimination happens. This
demonstrate a positive side of ethical behaviours towards others.
Showing sensitivity to others: An HR professional must have emotional sentiments for
others. For example, if employees are not well and suffering from any metal or physical trauma,
they must be kind towards them to grant leaves. Showing sensitivity towards others will maintain
employee satisfaction. It has demonstrated that, the BBC is facing issue to ethically fulfil these
principles. Due to wide work environment and uncertain tasks, the employees work hard even in
personal crises.

Showing respect for colleagues: This ethical practice is vital for HR professional. They
must encourage and appreciate colleagues to respect and value them. This is the professional
value which maintain a positivity in working.

Self reflective journal
Self reflection is an effective activity which leads to give insight about own potential,
strength and weakness and areas for improvement. In managing people at workplace, The HR
managers require various skills and talent in order to cope up with people and make them indulge
into work practices. Good leadership skills are required to guide and instruct people in better
way(Strassheim, and Beck, 2019). Therefore, these skills include communication, time
management and decision making. This will helps in better development of the employees and
they will be able to learn new concepts, participate in multi roles and be sensitive about others.
Therefore, it has shown that, there are the individuals which needs to be focus on the skills and
development for leading organisational change. The employees will get motivated and dedicated
by being concern towards team working and their well being. There are various ways through
which, the HR professionals could develop knowledge and skills such as reading books, feeds,
news and be active about current affairs. It will shows that groups discussions and podcast are
also effective for indulging in group practices which will be beneficial to engage with large
number of people and build confidence (Wei, and.et.al., 2020). I have engaged in my
processional development through focusing on all the methods. Also, I have used SWOT
analysis tool to analyse my own strength and weak factors that could impact on my learning.
Through forming this, I have learned about opportunities which I could grab through my
strengthen skills like communication, time management and decision making. Therefore, in my
own past work experience as an HR manger, I would like develop more key skills through
engaging in reading inspirational books, preparing workbook and set objectives.
In my own experience while working for the ITV organisation. I have been a part of
organisational ethical programme in which I need to be engage in team working practices. I and
4 other team members were assigned to create surveys and observation on the corer behaviours
of ethical practices due to complex working institution happening around the world. It shows
that, I and my team were engaged dedicatedly to prepare research about the ethics and make it

clear in our wordings. This experience has taught me that dedication is necessary to keep others
motivated. By engaging in this presentation activity, I have looked on the workplace policies and
standards which has put my focus on behaving In legal and ethical manner. This way I need to
look for health and safety, keeping privacy and security. I have started work using password
protected software so that, the research data and observation will get secured from thefts and
maintain consent of the people involved in it. This experience has developed my technical skills
through which I was able to carry out workplace activities in quick manner. I have managed my
academic life by developing time management skills (Van den Bos, 2018). The university has
grant us many opportunities to be a part of projects and learn new concepts. It has derived that, I
become able top many my personal and professional manner in ethical manner.
The whole experience was positive and goes in right manner. This experience has shown
me the value of many skills for me and my career. By engaging in the projects and presentation
task, I have learned about integrity and professional values which reflects loyalty, trust and fair
attitude for others. I have worked with ethical integrity and leads to provide focus on the well
established goal. I have learned positive behaviour and how to be informative and practical at
workplace. The experience has provided me with good knowledge of working and building
teams in coordinated way. This shows my way of behaviour and attitude towards my teams and
work dedication. It reflects on my development which will impact on my career goals. As I want
to be HR manager in well reputed organisation (Xu, and.et.al., 2018). This will require key
leadership traits and dedicated personality to motivate others. So that, I have developed my
knowledge about management and problem solving skills.
It has reflected form my learning and development that, I have engaged in many skills
and traits. But I still need to focus on my mistakes and weak factors. I will require to improve my
problem solving skills and management skills in order to carry out work practices in more
systematic manner. Therefore, I need to make appropriate time table and notes which will help to
me manage my personal and professional life (Weise, and Trollor, 2018). So that, I need to work
more on leadership qualities to easily maintain the quality of work and resolve complex
situations. It will demonstrate by behaviour to resolve conflicts and support my team In ups and
downs.

CONCLUSION
The report has concluded that, the HR professionals are the who tolerate and carry out
every individuals well being. The managers are responsible to be ethical and behave in right
manner. Therefore, the report has shown the concept of ethics and professional values which is
necessary to analyse the work environment. Also, due to various laws and code of conduct, the
managers needs to be adhere to all the obligations. It will impact on the working of management
and organisation. Also, a self reflection has provided to enhance the skills and develop
