INTRODUCTION Coronavirus is an uncertain pandemic that has spread around the world. Coronaviruses are a type of viral. There are numerous types of virus some of which cause sickness. Covid 19 is a pandemic of respiratory illness caused by SEARS-CoV -2 virus. Corona viruses are the closely related viruses that affects the mammles and the birds. The most impacted sector by this disease that is tourism sector, the way it has handled the situation and deal with crisis led by the coronavirus. It has lead to the death of millions of people that are affected by this pandemic. Those who had survived this pandemic is now suffering from the ever-lasting effects generated by this disease. It is a disease which has affected the individual mentally and economically. This report contains wide description of the background, definition of the coronavirus pandemic. Furthermore, it includes importance of tourism sector, the way covid-19 has impacted on tourism industry of United Kingdom. MAIN BODY Definition and background of the coronavirus and the way it is affecting tourism sector Although many businesses and sectors have been affected by the coronavirus. But the most affected sector by the coronavirus is a tourism sector that has led to the global crises in United Kingdom. Since 2019, the day coronavirus has found it had shaken the life of people. It is a disease that spreads from person to person that has led to the situation of lock down. The origin of this disease is from China (Khurramov, 2020). It was spreading both inside and outside the china. The transition of the corona virus is human to human which is transferring through the air. It was discovered that it was an infectious disease that can lead to the death of a person. The symptoms of this are identifiable and sometimes an individual without any symptoms can also suffer from this disease. The research has discovered that a person suffering from this disease will experience fever, respitray sickness, body aching, and many more symptoms. Those with minor infection will recover without any extra treatment. However, in case of more severity the person will require special attainment. So with the view of increase in cases various country has imposed lock down. The United Kingdom has banned the entry of the other citizen in their country to stop the spread of the virus. The business of the tourism sector comes to the end as tourism involve the movement of a person from place to other. It will increase the risk of spreading the virus quickly. The main economic growth of the company depends upon tourism sector of UK.
Due to the coronavirus pandemic the country has start incurring loses. It has the worst impact on the smes in the hospitality, it has raised the loss by 54% of their business. The tourism sector of the UK is one of the largest sectors of the world. United Kingdom has many facilities to offer the visitors of the country (Nikolskaya, and et.al., 2019). It has many places to be visited by the individuals that is the top most motivation for the visitors like museums, natural landscape, heritages, arts sector. In United Kingdom, not only comes with the purpose of visiting but also comes for the professional purpose. That also provides a super marketing platform for tourism sector to earn more. Importance of tourism sector The tourism sector holds a huge position for the economy in the United Kingdom, post Covid the country was making profit of 237 billion British pounds which has emerges a great fall after during Covid -19 (THE IMPORTANCE OF TOURISM TO THE UK ECONOMY., 2021). In The tourism sector, the companies involved in tourism sector are private and public company which includes small and medium Enterprises. Due to the close down of hotels, airlines, transport, restaurant, travel services various employees that had been working has lost their jobs. As the tourism sector was their source of livelihood. The tourism sector has helped in building the infrastructure of a country (Carvalho, and Carvalho, 2020). By travelling from one country to other country, it creates a sense of belongingness among the citizens of the different country. The tourism sector supports local artisans of the country, local markets, shops as it is tendency that the person will buy something from the country as the memory of that trip. There are various festive and culture sites to visit that will also help in increasing the sell GDP rate of the country. It helps a country with a low economy to maintain its GDP. The tourism sector helps in building coordination among the tourism sector or local market. The tourism sector will require the development of the country to attract tourist of other country. Tourism sector involves more than 15 million people that consist of huge importance as it is employing a great number of persons. The tourism sector has helped in increasing the development and has had helped in the making the country more beautiful. With the increase in the visitors, the number of facilities provided by the UK has also increased. With the close down of everything the number of visitors has also declined that leadto the decrease in the sales of the local products. The hotels and restaurant that has been newly opened for the tourist were forced to shut down. Due to the pandemic the United Kingdom has observes over 50% revenue losses. It has increased the unemployment rate of the country (Travel and tourism in the United Kingdom - statistics & facts., 2021). It has impacted the mental health of the society as well, as many people have lost their jobs. The three aspects which are mainly impacted by the Covid is economy, environment, socio- economic culture. The interaction between the citizens of the company has reduced and it has increased the gap between the two country. Economically the country has suffered a lot as tourism sector is the one of the main segments contributing towards the GDP. Due to the restrictions the expected recovery of the tourism sector is assumed to be slower than before. The government and tourism sector has shifted their focus to encourage safe travel and to follow all the protocols of the guideline. They have started adopting measures that will help in building the confidence of the travellers by providing safe and healthy environment. Sanitization of every place and people have made compulsory so that it will reduce the spread of virus. Technological development has also helped in rebuilding and regaining the travellers by showing on the websites that now it is secure to travel to the United Kingdom. These are the ways which has been implemented by the tourism sector of the United Kingdom but are not enough for regaining the position that it had earlier. The pandemic has also provided a chance to the tourism sector to rethink and make a better plan to earn the revenue from this sector. The government of United Kingdomhas launched a tourism recovery plan to generate the revenues from the tourism sector. Ensuring that they are not affecting the health of people of the country.(Dinarto, 2020). The government also preparing tourism zones to support the areas that are underdevelopment but holds a high potential growth. The United Kingdom government with view to increase the business event in the UK is launching an international business events action plan. The tourism sector can adopt various methods to promote tourism sector that are: making the travel safe by ensuring that a person with the coronavirus symptom does not travel. The
industry should open only when they are opening safely and the industry is making profits. To employ the persons who have certificated of vaccine and has successfully completed two does. By ensuring that everybody is following social distancing guideline. Those travelling to visit UK should have their vaccination certificate. The country can also promote tourism sector by explaining how it is better than other. CONCLUSION This report has concluded that the country has been badly affected by the coronavirus pandemic and it has a great impact on the tourism sector. Irrespective of everything the country has managed to survive by bringing new and various measures to increase the business of tourism sector. This outbreak has impacted the lifestyle of the people across the world. It has lead to the recession of economy due to the travel restrictions, quarantine and social distancing. Due to the understandable priority of public health airlines were grounded and closed. It has affected the economic growth of every country. The data is not sufficient so it is difficult to point out the specific factor which is affecting the tourism industry the most. With given data it is concluded that the country will soon observe a great hip in the tourism industry if it works according to the guideline.
