Abstract
Master of Professional accounting is a course that is offered by the Holmes Institute of
Australia. The topics that were being taught are related with the jobs roles and
requirement of a corporate accountant. The skills that are being covered for the
corporate accountant in the Holmes Institute are the analytical skills, appreciative skills,
strong personal skills and designing skills. These are the skills required to become
corporate accountant and with the help of the skills the candidate will able to meet the
required job criteria provided by the companies in the job advertisements. The detailed
analysis of these job advertisements for the corporate accountant position has been
shown in the report.

Introduction
The Holmes institute is an Australian institute that is based in Sydney, Brisbane
and Cone. The Institute is a very popular and well known institute all over Australia. The
institute provides education in finance and business to the students. The Institute offers
many courses to students one of the course is management of accounting (MPA). The
course has designed some topics that cover all the areas that are needed to become a
corporate accountant. The topics that were being taught in the institute are very much
related with the job requirements of the companies in Australia. Thirty jobs in total have
been collected from the various job portals. Five corporate accountant jobs have been
collected. The jobs that were collected are for the most searched positions in Australia.
These are the positions where every employee wants to work as because all these
positions offer a very good salary and a promising career in the future. The jobs that
were posted are by the most popular and well organized companies of Australia. The
companies that posted the jobs are MPC Kinetic, Suncorp group, MPAU Finance, ME
Bank and Paybang. The companies have posted the job roles and requirements, the
required qualifications for the job and the personal attributes on the job portals such as
jora, seek and indeed. The purpose of this report is to analyze the job requirements
that were being mentioned in the job portals matches with the topics that were taught in
the Holmes Institute of Australia.

Answer to question 1:
The number of jobs advertisement collected from the all the mentioned job
portals is 30. The jobs have been collected from Seek, Jora and Indeed. The jobs that
have been collected are for the location of Australia. The websites and job portals that
have been used for searching the jobs are the most popular and are used by the
unemployed and the employed people for searching job. The popular and the most well
organized organization around the world posted job vacancy in these job portals for new

recruitment purpose. Total number of jobs collected from seek is 8 (SEEK. 2019). The
total number of jobs collected from jora is 13 ( Au.jora.com. 2019). The total number of

position provide a good remuneration to the employees. However if the employee is
from a finance background, then it will become very easy for that employee to get the

should also manage and maintain the fixed assets of the company. The fourth job that

want an experienced candidate. This is because an experienced candidate is always
better than a fresher candidate as then the candidate can perform much better work
than the inexperienced candidate. This also reduces the time and training cost of the
company. The candidates should have an adequate knowledge of the accounting
standards of Australia, This is because without these knowledge accountant will not be
able to work these are the guidelines which needed to be followed while performing the
relevant calculations (Heenetigala et al. 2015). The candidates also should know the
preparation of financial statements, and preparation of financial reports (Dunbar, Laing
& Wynder. 2016). The accountants of the company need to prepare financial reports by

experience of more than three to five years in the related field of accounting and
finance. The candidate needs to have a basic and professional knowledge in software
that is used by the companies for the calculations and preparation of financial reports
and analysis.

company, financial reports, statutory report at the end of the year and forecasting of

company, profit distribution, capital reconstruction, money liquidation and preparation of

standards and stock exchange regulation. The institute covers almost every topic;
however the institute should also focus on the communication skills of the candidate as
because this is a major requirement as many companies want their employee to have a
strong communication skill to maintain proper relations with the clients.
