The research is about discussing different issuesthrowing an impact on the strategic and governance activities of St. George PLC. AimTo analyse the impact of Brexit on organisational activities of St. George PLCObjectivesTo understand the issues impacting organisational activities.To analyse the influence of Brexit on corporate strategies of St. George PLC.To recommend ways of analysing the impact of different issues on an organisation.SpecificationThe involvement of Brexit has affected enormous measures. Some of these well-knownfactors that have been impacted after Brexit involves the legal system, parliament factors,budgets, rate of international agreements etc. In some cases, the impact of Brexit has actuallychanged the processing of various functions and operations. Therefore, it is very important toanalyse the influence of Brexit on corporate strategic management and governance of St. GeorgePLC so that modifications can be made where required. LITERATURE REVIEWIssues impacting organisational activitiesThere are enormous number of factors that may term as a challenge or barrier in order toachieve objectives and targets within an organisation. Some of the well-known examples of itcan be considered as lack of motivation, lesser scope etc. It is because these activities canactually throw an influence on the strategic management of St. George PLC (Wright, Wilson andAmess, 2016). activities of an organisation, so Brexit can also be considered as a factor responsible for changesin strategic management of St. George PLC. Influence of Brexit on corporate strategies of St. George PLCAs St. George PLC is known for dealing with properties, so Brexit has thrown a hugeinfluence on the property measures. Brexit has shown major changes in some industries withinUK, even including the construction industry. One of a major issue is that the overall number ofproperty dealers are already increasing in the market place and then, the involvement of Brexitmade it worse in some areas. For shipping of the construction material overseas, there has beenobserved an increase in the shipping charges (Bristow and Robinson, 2018). So, it has impactedthe operations of St. George PLC as well to a huge extent. Also, the firm was unaware of thehappening of Brexit, so majority of the suppliers are international. Thus, after Brexit, the firmhas faced various issues with these suppliers as well because their terms and conditions havebeen changed as well. So, involving local suppliers by St. George PLC can be considered as abeneficial factor for bringing modifications and improvements. This can also help them toachieve greater outputs again. Therefore, it will help the firm to satisfy their customers as welleasily. RESEARCH METHODOLOGYResearch is classified as making involvement of data and information collected fromvarious sources so that it can be able to make the whole research more effective and appropriate. SUMMATIVE REPORT INTRODUCTIONBrexit is a combination between the words Britain and exit which refers to withdrawal ofBritain from European union. Most of the people voted in favour of Brexit but it has a greatimpact on plans and activities within organisations operating in UK. The result of voting forBrexit was resulted 52.5% in favour. St George PLC is also getting influenced due to changingpolicies in United Kingdom after leaving European union. It is essential for the management ofan organisation to govern and control rules, policies, code of conduct and practices followed bythe employees to achieve business goals. There are different types of corporate strategies whichprovides a systematic framework to the activities and functions of an organisation. Developing abusiness or corporate strategy is not sufficient for achievement of organisation's goals orobjectives. It is also essential for effectively monitor and manage the policies which can supportthe strategic implementation of new or innovative plans in business (Brexit in UK, 2016).Furthermore, the part in a business or organisation which manage or govern operations andpractices is known as Corporate governance. It helps to direct and manage the business functionsproperly to increase efficiency and effectiveness of organisational operations. There are many advantages of a well-structured corporate governance such as it helps inbuilding confidence within employees by forming effective favourable policies related to humanresource management. It assists each and every department within an organisation to improve theperformance of the firm and increase its profitability. Corporate governance also helps indeveloping strategies related to financial department of an organisation which plays a major rolein raising capital and funds for a business. In addition to this is responsible for creating balancebetween suppliers, shareholders, stakeholders, community and consumers. Brexit led to majorchange which influenced corporate strategies of many organisations and affected workingpractices and functions of the employees and firms (Kee and Nicita, 2017). The present researchreport will include a short introduction related to the background of this study and companychosen. It will also include brief literature about the topic along with analysis of evidence anddata collected by researcher using various research methodologies and techniques. BACKGROUND OF THE STUDY St George is a proud firm of Berkeley Group which is a leading mixed-use developer anda FTSE 250 company in London. This group focuses on shaping modern development withinLondon's riverside, replacing industrial area with impressive place to work, play and live. St.George is a company which delivers new places with high-quality aspiring people to live there.The company faced many changes and issues after Brexit, as there were many fluctuationswithin policies, tax rates, rate of international agreement, budget, etc. These changes had a hugeimpact on functioning of St. George company (Impact of Brexit, 2017). The constructioncompany need to follow various polices and regulation related to government, finance and legalsystem. These policies got highly influenced after exit of Britain from European union. . It isimportant to understand the changes that can affect business functions and operations. This canbe very effective in creating and implementing new strategies for the development of business .It is obvious that Changes in external environment directly and indirectly affect internalenvironment or business functions . Therefore, each and every organisation needs to adapt thechanges and develop more appropriate strategies for achieving success (Portes and Forte,2017).Reviews of issues There are many issues and challenges raised for constructions companies such as St.George after introduction of Brexit. The major issues were changes in governmental, andfinancial policies and regulations. Many organisations faced problems like, shortage of labour,because during existence of EU, labour were easily available and that too at cheap rate. . Cheaperlabours help in improving profit margins from a project and also assist organisation to tender forprojects which is becoming hard to manage after Brexit. . The exit affected the employment ofEU labour which resulted in increased expenses for organisations. Increment in cost of labouraffected profitability of St. George PLC was a big issue for the firm. Another challenge wasreduction in EU funding, due to this organisation developed a need of more effective ways ofattracting investors. Lack of employee motivation, low profitability, high cost of labour and otherissues had a great impact on corporate strategies of St. George PLC. In order to overcome thesechallenges and issues the organisation is bound todevelop new and effective strategies which canhelp in improving the performance of the business. 6
