Answer to question 1
Nicaragua has been facing political corruption since a long time. There have
been several reports which have been conducted on the country facing severe
corruption in their judicial and political systems (Langseth, 2016).
Answer to question 2
The judicial system of the country has always been under a great deal of
pressure from the political system and a high level of corruption existed in the courts.
Manipulation of the police and local public by the different criminal organisation
present in the country and the politicians was a common matter in the country.
Bribery was also quite prominent in the country among the politicians. Crimes such
as extortion, kickbacks and facilitation payments were often carried out by the
criminal organisations of the country. These forms of corruption came from different
sources. The lack of control within the government is one of the major causes or
sources of corruption in the city (Larson, Cronkleton & Pulhin, 2015). The
government has no control over the other public sectors and they have corrupted
people working among themselves which makes it impossible for the country to be
free of corruption as a whole and this becomes a reasons for suffering for the
common people of the country. There are other administrative, social and economic
problems as well which are existent in the country which might also contribute to the
corruption present in the country. The lack of proper law and order is another cause
of corruption in Nicaragua (Elbahnasawy, 2014). The citizens of the country also do
not have a strong sense of their civic duty and their responsibility towards the
country which makes it easy for the politicians and the governments to take
advantage of the situation.

Answer to question 3
The corruption in Nicaragua has dire consequences on the condition of the
country and its citizens. The country has reach degradation in terms of their
economic and social conditions. Due to the eminent corruption in Nicaragua, the
country has also lost its most valued possession which was their culture. The trust
that was present among the people of the country was no longer existent and in the
current scenario no person trusted the word of one another especially in an official
setting (Shacklock & Galtung, 2016). The main issue that comes with corruption in
the minds of the people is that the belief of the people that corruption was a much
more profitable act than honesty, which was the major effect of the different levels of
corruption, present within the country.
Answer to question 4
To reduce the corruption several steps have been taken by the government
with the help of neighbouring countries and certain programmes have been initiated
in the country. An anti-corruption trust fund have been initiated which helps the
citizens of the country, especially the remote areas to have better access to justice
without worrying about the cost that might be incurred in the process (Millard, 2013).
The government needs to ensure that the public sections of the country are being
operated by people who have the best interests of the citizensand the country in their
mind. If the public officials are corrupt then the whole system would be corrupted.
The needs of the people of the country should be the priority of every official. A
thorough inspection should also be done in a quarterly manner to ensure that no
corrupt means are conducted for any of the actions.
