Executive Summary
Network and communications technology plays very primary roles in our
healthcare centers in the present times. No health center will deliver its services
efficiently and effectively without the deployment of IT Infrastructure services.
Try to imagine a healthcare center without content managements system for
both the patients, employees and assets of a hospital it will be too difficult to
retrieve and update these information in times of need. In fact, our may lose life
waiting the retrieval of a file. This is so unfortunate. In addition, having a
communication system which is faster and can allow refers is one of the best
thing to have.
With the invention of IoT, healthcare is one of the sectors which benefited the
most. Healthcare is a wide ecosystem in which the deployment of IoT in this
sector seems to endless. These applications include remote monitoring, personal
healthcare smart sensors, medical integration, healthcare building facilities,
smart pills, robotics and disease treatments. This applications have improved
service delivery in healthcare centers. For sure, healthcare requires
implementation of IT infrastructure services to support all these application.
Information technology in healthcare covers a number of functions for in the
operations of medical centers. Some of the functions include storage and sharing
of information, analyzation of data, performing these roles, IT can influence on
the service provider performance and quality. This paper proposes network
design and other IT infrastructure services at Utopimed.

Project Goal
Though the deployment of technology is typically driven by business
requirements, business enterprises rely on similar technology in order to function
for a long period of time. In agreement with this concept, business enterprise
have technical goals which are part of any IT infrastructure implementation
project. Below are project goals for the deployment of Utopimed network design
and deployment:
Improved network security
Improved network performance
Increased network availability
Streamlined network management and
Increased network scalability
Project Scope
The scope of this project is to design a network infrastructure service which in
Utopimed healthcare in order to improve performance and service delivery. The
design will include logical design, logical network diagrams including addressing
and naming. Furthermore, routing, switching protocols will be mentioned. We
provide the physical diagram of the network showing the location of each device
on the network.
Business Goals and Constraints
Goals
Increase profit realized by medical centers - The Top-Down network
design methodology implemented in Utopimed medical facilities will enable
them to realize more profit in that the chambers available and are connected
with network allow 20 doctors to attend more patients at the same time
thereby it will enable them to serve more customers leading to more revenue
income made (Mülle, von Stackelberg and Böhm, 2011).
Increase market share - by serving more patients providing their services at
a faster rate the medical centers will win people’s choice and woe them since
people will opt to be serviced faster.
Expansion of Utopimed medical centers into a new market - Through
the top-down network methodology adopted by the medical centers their
entry to a new market is easier in that they offer quality services and provide
satisfaction to all patients in due time without delay.
