INTRODUCTION
Personal effectiveness is a branch related to self help movement which deals with the
concept related to success and goal achievement. It refers to the development of several skills as
well as potential which provide a scope in terms of growth and development in personal as well
as professional career. In general, personal effectiveness refers to gain success in career by
utilizing the skills, potential and talent. It is stated that personal effectiveness can be increase by
developing more skills and capabilities. For improving personal effectiveness, it is important to
develop strengths and work on weak points in order to gain exponential opportunities to gain
success in life (Cragg and Spurgeon, 2018). The crucial component for improving personal
effectiveness is to always engage in learning and development programs. It allows a person and
makes them capable enough to perform assigned task effectively at work place. By improving
personal skills & capabilities an individual can influence other in an impressive way. In current
competitive environment, it is important to keep focus on continuous development for keeping
oneself updated in order to gain success. The present report is based on personal effectiveness
which comprises a lot of skills, competencies which need to present in an individual in order to
enrich in career. It comprises qualities, skills of Sundar Pichai who is the Chief executive officer
of Google. Positive elements of personality, behavior of Sundar Pichai have been discussed in
the following report. Further, need of self assessment development for personal effectiveness and
strategies in order to improve own personal effectiveness have also been included in report.
Moreover, the report is based on identifying the areas of improvement for developing and
enhancing personal effectiveness in an efficient manner (Tasheva and Hillman, 2019).

Outline skills and behavior which have made Sundar Pichai a global effective leader
It is analyzed that Sundar Pichai is well known personality who is CEO of Google. He is
known as great leader for his effective leadership style to provide guidance and support to
followers. It is stated that a leader needs to have certain skills and capabilities which allow them
to motivate work force in an efficient manner. In this regard, some necessary leadership theories
are mentioned as under:

Situational leadership theory: According to this leadership style, leaders take decision as
per the situation. They first analyze the situation in detailed manner and then take an appropriate
decision by considering maximum benefit of followers (Diebig, Poethke and Rowold, 2017).
There are no certain ways to deal with situation. It completely depends over circumstances and
decisions of leaders are highly affected with situation. It is analyzed that Sundar Pichai adopts
this theory as his decisions are highly influenced by situation. Here, he first analyzes the
situation effectively and then take necessary decision for further betterment. This theory is useful
when the leader take decision according to the situation they assess the situation in appropriate
manner, take decision by determining maximum benefit of followers. Therefore, this is totally
depend upon circumstances which the leader take decision that is helpful in conducting different
task in an appropriate manner it also helped the leader in performing different task in proper
manner during particular phase of time period.
Trait theory: According to this theory, there is requirement to present some traits in
leader. These traits make them different from others. Each and every leader has some trait which
help them in guiding, supporting as well as working with followers. Under this, trait of all the
successful and unsuccessful leaders are identified and further compare with potential leaders in
order to determine their potential and capabilities to lead effectively. It is stated that Sundar
Pichai is a great leader having several skills which make him a great personality and allows
leading employees in an effective manner (Langford, Dougall and Parkes, 2017). According to
this theory, there is a need of some traits. This kind of traits help in differentiates them from
another person. It is useful in guiding and providing support and working with followers during
particular phase of time period. It helped the leader in assessing and comparison with leader for
assessing capability to lead in an appropriate manner (Dahl Barber and Peltier, 2019).
Contingency leadership theory: It is based on the uncertainty as per which behavior of
leaders needs to influence with situation. According to this, there is no such leadership style
which is perfectly fit in all circumstances. So, there is requirement to prepare for the contingency
and take decisions accordingly. It is analyzed that Sundar Pichai is adopts this theory as his
behavior, decisions are highly affected with situation. He does not follow any predefined ways of
work rather take decisions as per the situation which helps him in dealing with contingency in an
efficient manner. It is assess that they adopt this theory because the decision is affected with the
