INTRODUCTION Knowledge and skills plays essential role in the growth of the individual in the personal as well as professional life. It has been later analysed that individuals are required to take self initiative n order to groom themselves as per their personal and professional requirements (Barnes, Ernst and Hyde, 2017). Development of skills and knowledge supports the person in achieving their predetermined goals and objectives in the quicker manner. Also, highly advanced skills simply develop several opportunities for them which ultimately help them out in attaining success. This development can be done with the personality development sessions as well as training and developmentsession.Thepresentreport,experienceoftheindividualwhiledeveloping presentation as the part of the academic life would be discussed. This would be described in the reflective writing format. Moreover, action plan will be developed for individual through which they can easily develop their personal and professional weak skills. Reflect on your performance in the group presentation I have made a group presentation within the team as the part of my coursework. This team was developed by my tutor where they have further assigned the work which we all have to do so that we make develop good presentation. The overall process of developing presentation includes range of experiences as all of us have performed range of activities which have made us learn new things and also supported us to develop our self understanding over the weak skills. The overall experience related to this presentation has not only developed my knowledge on the string and weak skills but at the same time it has also helped me out knowing that how these strong skills could support me in accomplishing my goals. Also, I got the opportunity to know about several ways through which weak skills of mine can be developed as per the requirements so that I perform the similar kind of work in the near future in better manner. While working in the team, I got know that I am weak in communication as it is quite difficult for me to explain or express my views and ideas to the team members or the other associated people. I have personally noticed that while making the presentation I was not able to clearly show my ideas to the audience. This is so because I feel hesitant in front of the lots of people which ultimately create lots of difficulty for me to share my views with them. By knowing about my weakness got nervous and stressed out but at the same time my tutor and team members have supported me a lot by providing me opportunity to try these kind of things like presentation, 1
public speaking again and again so that I can develop this weak skill of mine and can also develop self confidence to indulge into the similar kind of activity in the near future. Apart from this, while emphasizing on the another skill that is information searching skill, it can be said that I excelled in this skill as I was always the scholar in my past academic record which clearly depicts that I know how to search data on different topics and attain useful information on it so that it can be used in the concise manner. Along with this, I am also expertise in analyzing gathered data in very quick manner as I know that how bifurcate overall information into small sections and attain meaningful output from it in rightful manner. Both the strong analytical and information searching skills have supported me a lot in gathering required information for the presentation within the provided timeframe. This has also contributed a lot in completing the presentation work in the timely manner. Away with this, from this presentation I also got know about my good time management skills as I have completed all the allotted work within the provided timeframe. This clearly depicts my strong time management skills. In order to support this statement, it can be said that I prefers to make use of adequate time management plan in which I personally makes the list of the activities which are required to be performed by me so that I can prepare myself for the work according to the available time. Another experience of mine related to the presentation work has made me realized that I am not at all good in conflict management and problem solving skills as it is quite difficult for the me to handle all work in the team where people or team members are indulged into issues and conflicts with one another. While making presentation in the group, I have noticed that many of the people are fighting with one another due to mismanagement of work which has ultimately created many issues in the preparation of presentation development. At that time when my team members have asked me to sought things or pass an effective judgment towards the same, it became huge difficulty for me as I was not able to present my views in the favour of one particular person. This has directly shown me that how weak I am on these skills. The main reason behind this was my string relations with the team members and if I would have passed by judgment in the favour of one person then it would have directly affected my relations with the other. Due to this, I can say that I am weak in problem solving skills. 2

This skill will enable me in the long run to facilitate the development of healthy relations with other individuals in a team or otherwise. Having strong communication skills provides assistance to a person in gaining an edge over others while presenting themselves in an academic or professional context. Thus, it is important for me to carry out an effective and strategic course of action through which I can ensure the development or enhancement of communication skills. With respect to problem solving skill, it can be said that this is prerequisite to effective addressing of issues arising between two individual of whom one can or cannot be me. It is well known that problem solving skills ensure the development of coordination and sync between individuals which is considered important while working in groups or otherwise also (Olson and et. al., 2016). This skill enables the development of a positive atmosphere whereby individuals can duly reconcile the differences existing within one another so as to derive positive results. Bothcommunicationandproblemsolvingskillsareessentialforanindividualtowork effectively in professional as well as academic contexts. 3
Develop an action plan It is important for an individual to evaluate one’s overall academic and professional personality in order to identify the skill gap and knowledge gap that needs to be addressed in due course of time. With respect to this, it has been acknowledged that development of an action plan is one of the ways through which an individually can effectively address the gap that lies within their skill set as well as knowledge base. An action plan is a series of actions or measures through which a person is able to improve or develop certain skills within them (Folianto, Low and Yeow, 2015). This enables them to work exceptionally well in academic or professional settings. So, it can be said that an action plan provides assistance to an individual in developingtheir overall personality in accordance with the requirements. Now, the analysis done by me reveals that I lack problem solving and communication skills. Thus, an action plan has been developed by me to improve these skills and make myself ready for the challenges associated with academic and professional settings. As a result of this, I will pave the way to getting employment in a reputed company whereby I can use my skills to achieve the goals and objectives of the corporation.
