Impact of COVID 19 in UK on Healthcare The outbreak resulted in increased demand for hospitals, beds, resources, vaccines. The fear of the pandemic has resulted in increased demand for healthcare as a little infection was misunderstood as virus. There was substantial increase in the occupancy and demand for beds by the patients(Houston, 2020). The virus had major impact on people who were above the age of 45 and who are suffering with some diseases like diabetes, heart disease, hypertension, etc. The impact of virus was not only on physical health of people but also on the mental health. Cases of emergency were low in the start of the pandemic but afterwards due to the virus emergency cases increased to larger amount. Above data also concludes that the beds for critical care were very low as compared to the COVID cases during the period. Due to this problem the people with minor symptoms of corona were isolated to their home only and only highly serious patient were admitted to hospitals for treatment. However, the total peak demand for the required beds was about 8 times higher than the Beds available in UK Hospitals. Universities, schools, and other quarantine blocks were also created in order to overcome this.
