TASK 1
Impact of the COVID-19 on the united kingdom:
COVID-19 pandemic has affected the whole world but as far as the context of this report
is concerned, the discussion is about the impact of the pandemic is on the United Kingdom. In
United Kingdom, the pandemic has effected the people of the UK physically and mentally as it
was an unexpected and unwanted guest for the human race. Due to COVID-19 pandemic, there
have been seen several negative impact in every sector, whether be it corporate, travels and
tourism, healthcare and the economy of the country has also been affected severely. Keeping in
mind the severity of the pandemic, the Government of United Kingdom imposed the lockdown
on March 23, 2020, in the whole country as a precaution which lasted till the June 2020 and so
on. Although the country was locked down, still there was given a leverage for the essential
services to be served in the country (Atman Uslu and Usluel, 2019). During the first wave of the
pandemic, the people were mentally disturbed that hampered their social life as well and the
death rate was too high at that time. The impact of the pandemic in the second wave was so cruel
that it increased the death rate quite higher than that of first wave, and again the pandemic hit the
nation with its third variant namely “Delta variant” which was the last variant that had the
significant impact on the human lives. The below line chart can provide clear understanding
regarding the ups and downs in the cases:

The impact of the Covid -19 on the healthcare in the UK :
The most affected sector due to the pandemic was the healthcare sector as it involved the
indulgence of the medical personnel and facilities. At the time of the peak in the pandemic, The
UK lacked in their medical sector nationwide, the hospital care was less accessible to the people
in the nation as the numbers of patients were higher (Dominguez Castillo, Cisneros Cohernour and
Barberà, 2018). When the pandemic hit the UK, the Government started re-allocation of their
resources to the healthcare sector for the proper maintenance of the health of the people of
nation. The officials found that unmet need was the quite higher for the patients after the
introduction of the first lockdown. Due to the collapse of the healthcare, the death rate was so
high that the bottle neck occurred in the crematoriums as well of the countries. During the peak
of the Covid, even rich people of the countries were left no option as there was least provision of
the facilities to the people. For better understanding of the mortality rate in the UK, the following
