Covid 19 ( SARS COV 2) is a acute respiratory syndrome. This virus is capable of
causing mild symptoms like cold or severe moderate diseases called respiratory illness.
However,some patients might require medical attention due to this virus(Afanasiev and
Afanasieva, 2021). The contribution of travel and tourism industries is almost 6.7% to the UK
GDP. Due to this virus the government has to impose some restrictions on travelling. They put a
travel ban on all the passengers from other countries which impacted the tourism industry for a
large period of time. In this report there will be discussion about the impact of Covid 19
pandemic on the UK tourism industry and brief analysation about various challenges which is
faced by this sector.

2020). This virus directly attacks on the lungs and it can cause several respiratory problems like
pneumonia and ARDS (Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome). Eventually, shortness of breath
is the most common reason and due to this the person could face these severe problems. Travel
and tourism industry has almost contributed 6.7%to the UK economy. In 2018 their tourism
industry generated 145.9 billion British pounds to the GDP of UK. Then after sometime the
outbreak of the pandemic started initialising. The government imposed travel restriction in the
country which impacted this industry. All flights were cancelled due to nationwide lock down
which was imposed on 23 march and after that when the pandemic was over the government has
given some relaxations(Kaushal and Srivastava, 2021). The British government has introduced a
mandatory 14 days isolation for the travellers who entered in the country in order to stop the
impact of coronavirus. In 2020 according to the survey the UK government has lost 37 billion
from lack of tourism due to fall in both in international and domestic travel markets. However
due to this pandemic it has brought particular changes in the hospitality venues in regards to
hygiene. Due to this pandemic lots of issues in relation to life has been faced by the individual.

of COVID 19, government of the nation only give permission to open the supermarket and
groceries stores in order to meet the necessary needs of people on continuous basis. All the fun
practices has been comprises in the tourism industry in which society members do their in free
time by exploring the different areas. The arisen of COVID 19 has made a bad conditions all
across the globe and this is still going on in the different areas of the world from the past 2 years
and this also effect the tourism industry by declining in their income.
The tourism industry is being considered as the most important industry which contribute
in the economy of the country. UK is well know for their attractive destination which attract lots
of tourist. According to the research it has been analysed that the tourism industry of the United

considered as one of the topmost industry in developing career of the individuals and developing
employment options for the suitable candidates. The sector of hospitality is play a very important
role in the development, as these industries assist in generating more and more income by
increasing the involvement of people their services. Due to the higher involvement of the
individual in the leisure practices in the UK, this sector is being considered as the most growing
industry and on the top in England. In addition to this, this also help in achieving all the goals
and objective of the company by providing accommodations services to the business in order
