Introduction to Annotated Representation for Violence in Public Places for Women
Due to the rapid changes in the structure of the economy there has been a rise in the process of
globalization which also led to changes in the lifestyle and social structure. Apart from that
these changes play a dominant role in the social relation more specifically between women and
men (Ceccato, 2016). Actually, the education, changes in the traditional structure of family,
modern role of states, feminine earner of wage are some of the reasons for the rapid evolution of
feminine condition (Violence in a public place, 2019).
Previously, there was space in private as well as public places, where both men and women were
recognized and provided domestic spaces for social and religious reasons. However, these days’

things are different. The traditional sexual division has a new version and it does not treat men
and women equally (Gardner, 1999). The violence in public places is getting worse these days.
As people take small issues to that level which must not have been taken, the public harassment
these days can happen anywhere across the globe (Wikihow, 2019).
Does Violence in Public Places based on gender?
The recent study has revealed that there have been gender equalities across the globe. Indeed, the
aforesaid perception generally being faced by women and the people who are different from men
(Violence in a public place, 2019). The men, however, may not consider the fact. However, it
can be seen that most of the public violence occurring these days are mostly in relation to
women. Today, the public spaces of men are very different from women (Gardner, 1999).
It is needless to say most of the crimes these days are occurring such as sexual harassment, rape,
domestic violence all of them are the examples of violence against women. The way men have
been occupying spaces in the neighborhood, world place etc. cannot be compared to that of the
women (Â Aprajita, Salini, 2019). However, most of the countries across the globe are trying to
bring equality between men and women in each and every sector whether it may relates to crime
or violence (Violence in a public place, 2019). On the other hand, some of the countries treat
men and women according to the standards norms as prescribed by law. Thus, this type of
communication structure suggests that the violence against women in public spaces is more as
compared to men (Ceccato, 2016).

As explained earlier, the sampling of women has been considered as per her social background,
age, level of education, occupation, marital status, residence area etc. In fact, when we ask any
women whether she may be a housewife, business women there can be comparison between the
two. In a traditional way women are treated as inferior to men that’s the reason men thinks that
the women can be treated with the help of violence. (Violence in a public place, 2019)
Women these days have been facing violence in home as well as workplace as compared to men
including sexual harassment, rape, domestic violence etc. We can treat the violence against
women in terms of physical, sexual, psychological in public spaces as per their perceptions. This
perception also impacts the mental and physical health of women when they try to use public
spaces (Monqid, 2012).
The analysis also shows that the reactions of these types of violence including the acceptance
strategies and resignation as a result of interioraization of the standard norms of the society
(Ceccato, 2016).
The types of violence in Public Places
The issue of sexual harassment has been more specifically focuses in the context of violence
against women in public places. This concept has been more and more familiar with each
passing day. Actually, women have been continuously dealing with improper conduct including
physical, sexual and moral integrity. (Violence in a public place, 2019)This can considered as
verbal violence even if there is not physical attack. Sexual attacks in public spaces including

touching inappropriately in public transports, extreme cases of rape and domestic violence are
some of the examples (Violence in a public place, 2019).
The violence of women are many in public spaces. This raises a insecurity issue in the minds of
the women in rural areas as well as in cities. Most of the women face such barrier and violence
in place (Gardner, 1999). these days have been facing violence in home as well as workplace as
compared to men including sexual harassment, rape, domestic violence etc. We can treat the
violence against women in terms of physical, sexual, psychological in public spaces as per their
perceptions. This perception also impacts the mental and physical health of women when they
try to use public spaces (Ceccato, 2016)

There has been a distinction between sexual harassment and distinguish between serious sexual
attacks. Women can feel insecure in public places in case they are alone, they can complain of
unable to walk alone in public places due to fear of harassment. most of the crimes these days are
occurring such as sexual harassment, rape, domestic violence all of them are the examples of
violence against women (Gardner, 1999). The way men have been occupying spaces in the
neighborhood, world place etc. cannot be compared to that of the women, However, most of the
countries across the globe are trying to bring equality between men and women in each and
every sector whether it may relates to crime or violence. On the other hand, some of the

2016).
Does the violence occur due to flirting nature of Man?
As per the tradition, naturally men provide themselves the authority to flirt with women. This
can be termed as a symbol of sexual assault which is encouraged by man (Monqid, 2012).
However, in general violence in public places does not only as a result of sexual misconduct,
apart from that there also political reasons lies in public violence when the specific demand of
the public of the country does not meet the required criteria (Wikihow, 2019). Furthermore, in
general men have more sexualize behavior than women and they consider women as a public
property. A female body can be termed as a physical object for them in medical language they

can considered as sexual object ad syndrome of appropriation. This can be considered as one of
the important factor for violence in public places for women (Wikihow, 2019)
How deal with Violence in Public Places
Public places can be sometimes becomes the scene for the occurrence of a violent act which
includes the explosives, firearms and chemical agents. It may sometimes become difficult to
prevent such type of violence. However, the following simple steps can prevent such type of
hazards so that the impact of the violence can be reduced (Wikihow, 2019);
