In the modern world, where the use of vehicles has been increased the number of car theft
has also been increased with the same rate. The car theft has been the major concern all over the
world and the various countries had made various laws and took prevention steps to control these
crimes. Melville City Council has also experienced the problem of car theft in the city that is in
the south part of Perth, Australia (Farrell, & Tilley, 2017). With the increasing economic
changes, car theft has become a serious issue for the people resides in Melville City. In this
report, the consultation will be provided to the Melville city of council regarding the prevention
steps that can be taken for the prevention of car theft crimes. However, it is analyzed that all the
steps what the government can take to prevent the crime are to strengthen the legal implication
and increase the penalties s on such crimes. It is noted that from the particular places the theft is
being more on the places of the transport and healthcare service providers. In this report, various
precautions measures and legal implication which council can take for the prevention of crimes
has been taken into consideration. This shows how well government could strengthen its legal
policies and rules to curb the cases related to car theft in society and economy at large.
Education
The council can establish this educational perspective training for public awareness and
provide public training in the theft measures program and the support prevention programs.
However, it is difficult to analyze the effectiveness of theft prevention activities (Smith, 2016).
From the beginning of this procedure, it has been analyzed that in every five cases in
which four cases of car theft the owners had left the doors open and in the other five cases in
which one case where the owners had left the keys in the car. Therefore, in order to prevent the
