Reflective statement
Last week, I have participated in the Interdisciplinary Study module that helps to enhance my
personal and professional career. Throughout this module, I learned that interdisciplinary
study permits the student for learning by making a connection between ideas as well as
concepts in across different disciplinary limits (Logofatu, et. al., 2017). This learning was
beneficial for me to apply the understanding gained in one area to another as a mode of
deepening learning. I have learned that branching in the new sector can create my creativity,
critical thinking as well as CV. Along with this; interdisciplinary activity gains my listening
competencies, empathy for social and ethical concern and creating the perception of bias.
This module was beneficial for me to increase my critical skills and also enables me to ask
more sophisticated questions with the customers. This interdisciplinary module also supports
me for creating new links between opinions as well as evidence in a contrasting sector and it
also supports me produce a more sophisticated answer (Neff, et. al., 2019). These skills will
not only improve my academic performance but also enhance my employability skills.
Throughout the module, I have generated my knowledge that I should question with own
thought procedures. I have observed that when I begin performing in a group that mix student
to different departments, then be prepared to question their own thinking. Along with this, I
have pointed out that the interdisciplinary module supports me to observe the things that are
easily taken for granted through specific disciplines. I have learned that course content that
may appear clear to some students could be complex for others due to the disparity in the
disciplinary training. It is identified that the interdisciplinary module may take time for
accumulating and developing new ideas through a different piece of knowledge (de Oliveira,
et. al., 2015). This would be beneficial for improving my personal as well as professional
career.
