INTRODUCTION
In these critical study of distinctive approaches is intervened through which examined
and defined in above case study. It also determines one particular framework that can use in
these excises in accordance to interlinked with Jen & Mark case (Weng and et.al, 2021). This
will demonstrate field of practices that specific interests with their case study. Such as discussed
domestic violence, mental illness etc. which is seen. Their background that defines about,
includes in relevance to young mothers, use of alcohol & drugs due to which it affected their
relationship. Furthermore, problems faced by them because of gendered violence that effect
mental health of Jen.

In this discussed different approaches through which several issues takes place and
intervened. Through this framework and intervention analyse the situation and outcomes by
these that helps in to understand effectively. That has explained below;
Risk assessment-suicide or safety planning
Risk assessment is the process to identify the hazard and to find what things happen when the
hazard occurs. Risk assessment for the suicide is to learn about the possible factors which are
affecting the individual to take this step. Feeling for suicide is the absolute darkness for the
person therefore the safety plan for this include all the possible aspects so that it can prevent the
one to think of committing suicide (Weber and et.al 2017). The initial step for the safety plan is to
familiar with the situation and analyse what are things which are forcing attempting suicide. List
the all the warning factors so it will help to activate the safety plan. Make a to do list for the
things to be explored as it gives the positivity or beneficial to overcome the depression. Make a
list of the things which are driving to live the life fullest as it gives the positivity to do something
unique in life. Also, can proceed to talk with the relatives as they are the one who care the most
having conversation with them give the eternal happiness. To avoid the suicidal thoughts one can
also proceed to indulge into other programs as skill development activity, games which enables
to live without worries.
CBT
CBT acronym for the Cognitive behavioural therapy it is defined as the talking therapy which
enables the individual to look into their problem to manage them by adapting the certain changes

as in way of thinking and in behaviour. This therapy is more beneficial in treating the anxieties
and depression also important to deal with the mental health problems. This process will guide
the person to analyse the negative thought patterns to overcome from it. through this therapy
individual can analyse the factor as what are the negative things which are enabling them to feel
depressed and to have less hope with the life. This therapy will help to breakdown all the
problems in a smaller part so that it can be easier to overcome the problems in a positive manner
(Sommers-Flanagan and Shaw, 2017). There are some argue which states that the CBT is only focus
on the specific problems as it does not majorly focus on the cause of the problem.
Motivational interviewing
Motivational interviewing is the effective counselling approach which is helpful to increase the
motivation in the individual so that they feel positive towards their life. This process is the goal
oriented which approach to enable the individual to feel motivated in their work or life to achieve
their certain goals and objectives. It is the good communication style which use by the counsellor
to give advice or to empower the person towards their good and better life. This process leads the
person to know their situation and to find the better options for that to overcome it. It involves
the processes which are indulging, concentration, evoking or the planning which is used to
analyse the problem and to find the solution to deal with the problems.
Feminist Theory- It is refers to as framework that determines an understanding about concept of
gender discrimination due to which gives more importance to make as compare to female. In
which identifies gender inequality that takes place and has experiences by female in different
aspects of it. That is suffered by female and demotivated in different sectors that highly impact
on them. This approach helps in order to understand about injustice and unequal behaviour that
happens with feminine because they are female, as people mentality is that female cant do
anything they have to only stay at home and do duties of home rather than going on office and
many others. By this framework, it evaluated practices that female faced problems because of
inequality and discrimination with males in different key areas of function (Garcia and Ramirez,
2021). It is important to treat both male and female equally they both are capable for doing work.
As compare to male, females are stronger and skilful person that have solution to overcome
different situation through their skills and understanding power.
Narrative theory and therapy- This is determined therapy that helps specialist, to capture and
control thoughts that inform narrative, in order to keep in mind about their preventability and

presence. It emerges intellectual framework that gives counsellors with essential approach. As
this is predicted that is based on exhaustive understanding of significance of culture in growth of
peoples through this framework that helps in understanding aspects. It is a type of framework
that targets on separate peoples from issues, allowing to people in external factors that develop
problems for them. It determines that people have their own knowledge and sense of
determination to give way in facing difficult times positively. As this considered as respected
department and dignity of each customer. In accordance to that this is an essential factor that
customers is to be treated as personality of individual who is not imperfect. This helps in treating
several ways of mental health disability. For example, depression, stress and many other factors
that effect peoples because of their problems.
Solution focused framework- It defines as short period of target that aiming at evidence which
is based on framework of therapeutic. This evaluates positive approach towards psychology
exercises and principles. By which helps to customer in order to demonstrate answers rather than
aiming at their issues that prevent in different circumstances. Through this person gets heir
vision in life that helps in to think about their future by aiming at and make their aim and
purpose that where they have to reach as an individual. It provides through focusing on their
goals to achieve their desired goals and targets of life (Kim, Brook and Akin, 2021). In order to
which people face their difficult times effectively and able to faced their challenges positively
without taking anything in mind and able to control symptoms of issues in positive way of
approach. As this helps in both situation either related to families and couples through coming
out as getting achievement in their individual therapy. In order to get out from their problems by
giving appropriate solutions to their issues in accordance to came out from them and happily
successful in their problems.
By understanding about all approaches the best practices that can used in Jen & Mark case study

impact on their parenting. As she abused by family members and husband, also they mentally
harassed that create problem in it lives. It will occur an imbalance and insecurity among Jen &
Mark and effect on mental health of theirs. They belong to society where everyone is from poor
mentality and thinks that females should not respect (Piquero and et.al, 2021). Domestic violence
is crime and not a good thing because its emotional and mentally impact on peoples due to
violence takes place with them through injustice and gets disturbed them as mental illness
occurred. By which it has to go from mental treatment as they are not in condition to get
recognize anything. In case study of Jen & Mark, the domestic violence is seen that effect, Jen
mental health because family members and its husband abuses her and torture by different ways
of doing through which effects their mind and arises mental illness.

Youth homelessness- There are several reasons due to which young individuals are experienced
homelessness (Ansloos, Wager and Dunn, 2021). In regard to Jen & Mark, it occurs that impact
on their relationship that occurs by separated them through issues takes place the and determines
youth homelessness. The reasons behind youth homelessness is insufficient amount of income
from few elements that determines unsuitable circumstances in living of their life.
Young Mothers- In case scenario of Jen & Mark, Jen become young mother in early age, their
child responsibility is also implemented on her. The effect of their relationship is also impact on

their role of parenthood. As she now has to focus on its child, through get safe from violence and
not affected their child mental health.
Use of drugs & alcohol- Due to domestic & violence takes place in Jen & Mark case study, it
affected on their lives by which they consumer alcohol and drugs because of their mental health
disturbed (Carew and et.al, 2021). Also, they get consumption of these in huge amount that
effect on their health badly. It mainly arises by factor of domestic violence, because of which
their mental illness, uses drugs and alcohol in their lives that impact on their lives and effect
negatively due to which their parenthood and other factors are also impacted.
Problems in Australian statistics and their prevalences
In these different issues are identified related to Australian concepts and statistics related
to various elements that determines problems that occurred in their lives. These are determined
below;
Unplanned pregnancy- Jen & Mark is lives in Aboriginal background, they effect by which
their unplanned pregnancy happened. This impact on their lives by this factor as both manner
positively and negatively aspects. Positive impact is determined by which they become parents
helps them to overcome their issues and their understanding takes place in good manner as they
become parents. For being into parenthood helps in to get overcome issues that takes place
among them. Negative impact is takes place by effecting on their lives as she already deals with
domestic violence and mental illness (Altiparmak, Yilmaz and Aksoy Derya, 2021). SO, as she is
not in condition to birth child and deals with by performing their responsibility as young mother.
Gender violence- It has always seen that females are suffered from violence that only takes
place with her. As everyone thinks females are not strong to take voice over domestic violence.
In current case scenario Jen is facing violence by his husband and family members who mentally
torture her. Due to which it prevents negative impact on its health and effects badly because of
violences happened to him through different aspects.
Mental illness- Jen mental health is effected because of violence takes place with her, that arises
mental illness in their body and not in proper condition to think about their parenthood and
others (Zhou and et.al, 2021). AS their mental illness is seen because of behaviour of Mark wit
her in different aspects.

Drug use focusing on young people- By consumption of drug in their lives, has effect on their
well-being, they use because their mental illness get affected (Jacob, Ti and Knight, 2021). Due
to which they use drug as its focuses on young individuals.
So, from these study it seen about impact of Jen because of various things has happened to her
by their family members and husband. That arises different issues in their lives because of which
mental health is highly effected.
CONCLUSION
The report has been concluded about key issue that takes place among Jen and Mark,
through distinctive exercises. In these case scenarios, has been defined different framework that
are feminist theory, narrative framework and many other that reflected in Jen & Mark case study.
Such as domestic violence, mental illness etc. has been determined in their lives. Their
background of Aboriginal that arises issues into different factors that are they using drugs
because of mental health affected due to various circumstances. Furthermore, it will also justify
problems that are faced by Jen because of action that takes place because of gendered violence,
mental illness that impacted on its life.
