Topic: Quantum Shift in the Global Brain: How the New Scientific Reality
Can Change Us and Our World
In scientific world of today, with many innovations and continuous research to understand nature
and the thing happen surrounding the environment, thinking of human has gone so beyond. With
continue efforts to make innovation in technologies, especially to meet desires of people to live
more comfortably, contributes to put adverse impact on nature (Bernal-Merino, 2018). In 21st
century, people are facing new reality at both individual and collective level, which is shifted
from stability to unsustainability. Due to greater interference in nature, reality is emerging more
new, that results in frequent and sudden changes in environment. The present essay is going to
elaborate the concept that how today’s world is becoming more unsustainable due to shift in
global mind, where instead of humanity, human thoughts are shifted towards business only, by
reviewing the book written by Erwin Laszlo (Belkic, 2019). Hereby, as per the author’s point of
view, humanity refers to a system having rapid transportation capability. The reality which
emerges from Laszlo demonstrates that the world is continuously becoming less stable and
sustainable. This kind of reality which is unsustainable however, harbours the unique
opportunity, can be utilized for making today’s world or 21st century viable again. In this regard,
it needs to be transformed in order to allow the current population to live in dignity with others
including surrounding environment (Atasoy and et. al, 2018). Furthermore, as "tipping" point of
global is either near or have reached it, therefore, to transform the same, it is essential to utilise
the time because with more changing trends, climate and process, this will lead to tipping point
more irreversible. This would necessary for making world more sustainable and maintenance of
peace and order.
There is a shift within reality as per materialistic scientific view, towards the multiple
interconnected realities’ multidimensional worldview (Sebens and Carroll, 2018). Due to this
situation, critical choice of humanity is articulated clearly on whether first of a pioneering one
will take world into future, or to be last generation of the outgoing obsolete world. With a
Macroshift, world at global now needs humanity to change as per rapid changes in trends and
climate (Lange, 2018). Along with this, to guide whole world through scientific, environmental
and geopolitical upheavals, a new “reality map” required to be adopted, due to occurrence of
several problems, challenges and opportunities, at individual and collective level. Although, it is
highly essential to distinguish the random noise against deterministic chaos (Pavlovich, 2019).

However, theoretical side does not focus on problems, opportunities, or challenges in
individually and collectively as compared to practical one. It explores reality as per latest
developments within sciences. In this regard, reviewing the present book, it demonstrates
quantum shift in global mind with scientific explanation on the basis of Bifurcation and Chaos
Theory (Fiorini, 2017). Deterministic chaos is occurred in the low dimensional space not
randomly, where an attractor refers to set of points to which the trajectories within state volume
space converge asymptotically over time. In other words, is depicts the fact that only few
countries are food self-sufficient still, where availability of food reserves at international level is
shrinking continuously. This fact demonstrates that near about 900 million people today are
classified as slum dwellers (Costa, Dotta and Persinger, 2016). Along with this, within poorest
countries more than 78% of urban population survives under the life-threatening circumstances.
Furthermore, as per Laszlo quantum theory depicts two scenarios as Business as usual and
Timely transformation. Hereby, first scenario states that human mind is continue towards spiral
downwards, i.e. due to negative impact of climatic changes on the ecosystem and economy,
terrorism as well as organised crime is highly increased at global level (Montecucco, 2015).
While timely transformation scenario states about shift of thinking patterns of human, after
realisation that they have potential to become agents of change. In this regard, business leaders
are decided to adopt new strategy for maintenance of peace at world level, by conducting a
proper research on corporate, ecological and social responsibility (Goodman, M., 2015).
Ecosystem today, is not in condition now to support itself because human beings are
propelled more into immediate actions which leads to frequent changes in nature. This relates to
wake up call that due to profit hungry practices, there is sudden and drastic change in climate
(Bernal-Merino, 2018). Such critical point where any kind on instability in ecosystem or itself
shift into the self-sustain process, constitute the Macroshift. This phase includes – Tigger Phase;
Transformation Phase; Critical Phase; and Breakdown Phase. These phases describe the dynamic
situation of evolutionary process within human societies, i.e. future can only be created and no
one can forecast it, therefore, instead of making decision how to cope up with perceive
challenges, human being are needed to create a positive scenario through new thinking (Belkic,
2019). The first phase of Macroshift states about Innovations within “hard” technologies such as
tools and techniques, machines, operational systems and more, which bring the greater efficiency
for human ends within manipulative nature. While another phase i.e. transformation one

demonstrate that innovation in such a manner, puts the irreversibly change within social and
environmental relations, as well as bring about a greater level of production related to resource
successively (Atasoy and et. al, 2018). Along with this, it also leads to faster population growth,
greater societal complexity and more. The third phases bring attention that changes with socio-
environmental relations highly raise pressure on established culture. This arise question about
time-honoured values, worldwide views, ethics and ambitions which are associated with them. In
this regard, society both at collective and individual level, becomes chaotic in terms of chaos
theory. Societies do not lack the order and can exhibits the subtle one, which indicates extremely
sensitive condition to fluctuations (Sebens and Carroll, 2018). This evolution of dominant culture
including human consciousness depicts ways of changing of views, values and ethical response
of people. This would determine the result or outcome of the manner developmental trajectory
will be / has been taken off. Considering these three phases, the last one i.e. Breakdown phase
states that such values, ethics and worldwide views of a critical mass of population within
society seems as resistant to change. In other words, the established institutions are also less rigid
in society to allow for any kind of timely transformation (Lange, 2018). This phase states that
social complexity in such way, coupled with the degenerating environment which develop
unmanageable stresses. It also exposes social order towards series of crises which may soon
degenerate into violence and conflict. In addition to this, another side of Breakdown phase
demonstrates that the mind-set of the critical mass of public evolves over time, in terms of
shifting the society culture towards better or improvised the adapted mode (Pavlovich, 2019). If
mentioned changes take hold with improved social order which is governed by more worldviews
and adapted values, then social system could be stabilized itself within the changed conditions.
So, it has been concluded from societies bifurcation which happens in mentioned 4 phases of
Macroshift that in fourth phase, people have opportunity for changing the trajectory of their
existence (Fiorini, 2017). If they will remain rigid as well as resist to change, then it will relegate
the world into more conflicts and crisis. However, such conditions can be avoided, if critical
incidents will avoid first when equilibrium is getting restored. But as per nature, human beings’
decisions are unlike because they are highly influenced by considered purpose and conscious
will. It has revealed through quantum theory that civilisation of present condition has become
remarkably sensitive either positive or negative, towards human interventions (Costa, Dotta and
Persinger, 2016). Considering first scenario about No Change: Business as Usual, it has

evaluated that critical conditions arise in regions are mostly exposed towards pernicious changes
of climate effects. Due to continuous changes in technology and interference with ecosystem, has
resulted to sudden changes within weather patterns (Montecucco, 2015). So, it results into
creating drastic conditions like draught or flood, harvest failures at wide level, devastating
storms and more. For example – rise in sea level results in flood within coastal areas; production
area exposed towards hurricanes, tornados and storms; etc. shows conditions of frequent changes
in climates. Along with this, breakdown of the poor countries and regions which are extremely
exposed, creates the global security threat. It includes epidemics of a number of infectious
diseases that spread over various regions like Africa, Asia, Americas and more. These regions
are owing to the heat waves, contaminated water and outbreaks of agricultural pests. Breakdown
of poorest also lead to create terrorist groups at global level, nuclear proliferators, organized
crime form that are alliance with scrupulous less entrepreneurs and more (Goodman, M., 2015).
In terms of political and economic processes, that are accompanied by military fallout,
breakdown phase entails that terrorism spreads with undeclared and declared attacks together on
nations suspecting of harbouring terrorists. Therefore, for this purpose major alliances like The
North Atlantic, The United States, France, Germany and more form the coalition to achieve
political and economic objectives, by making decision on usage hi-tech weaponry. Along with
this, for resolving regional conflicts, some of the new strong-arm régimes are employed nuclear,
biological or chemical weapons, where war is fought at global level with these highly
conventional and nonconventional weapons.
While as per timely transformation scenario, Macroshift phases depicts that terrorism and
war experience together give rise poverty (Bernal-Merino, 2018). Hereby, threats are also posed
via changing climate that trigger the positive changes in thinking pattern of human beings. The
idea which individuals as well as small groups create together to overcome from such threats, are
therefore, considered as agents of transformation, for bringing more peaceful and sustainable
world. Under such condition, people from different cultures and regions come together to
confront such threats in positive manner. This worldwide rise of the popular movements for
global peace and sustainability, with international cooperation results in election of political
figures whose perceptions are similar and motivated (Belkic, 2019). It also lends fresh impetus
for projects related to economic cooperation including the intercultural solidarity. Political and
opinion leaders under such conditions, also wake up towards urgent need to create organization

at world-wide level, for monitoring the threats, providing warning, as well as raising funds and
sources to undertake the rescue operations. Along with this, national, international and local
business leaders are also give their contribution for such operations by making investment in
CSR activities (corporate social and ecological responsibility). Thus, it has evaluated that timely
transformation scenario as per Macroshift phases, is anticipated in order to give rise the
Sustainable Civilization (Atasoy and et. al, 2018). This type of transform civilisation is
characterised as National, Continental and International governance structures, which are newly
created or reformed and moving states toward the participatory democracy. It also releases a
surge of creative energy within empowered population. Consensually, this has created and
coordinated the global eco-social market system, where natural resources are provided for
adequate health and well-being of population (Sebens and Carroll, 2018). In addition to this,
intercultural and international mistrust, racial oppression, ethnic conflict, gender or racial
inequality, economic injustice and more, give way to the greatest level of trust. This will lead to
achieve political and economic objectives easily which are based on maintenance of peaceful
relations within states and countries.
As per Ervin Laszlo’s point of view, examining the causes of un-sustainability which has
crept into the society, are required to be changed for the survival (Lange, 2018). The all above
mentioned discussion constitute shift in paradigm at macro scale, where society allows the
maximum level of shift. Furthermore, next phase of Macroshift regarding with new ideas is
started with mounting pressures in order to do change for better and solving problems regarding
with worldwide conflicts and security threats (Pavlovich, 2019). Macro-shift phases are heavily
depended on innovations or new scientific paradigm development for affecting the required
change. In this context, Ervin Laszlo has proposed two theories as Cosmic Plenum and
Coherence. As per first theory i.e. cosmic plenum which is derived from mechanics and quantum
vacuum theory, is developed outside the time dimensions and normal space. It connects entire
events as well as conscious thought through the non-local effects, that forms basis for global
brain (Fiorini, 2017). While another theory i.e. Theory of coherence, it states that ethical values
are based on coherence of mind. In this regard, it has evaluated as per this theory that physical,
emotional or mental well-being caused via corresponding chemical signatures, with absence of
continuum knowledge. Furthermore, it is self-evident that a quantum shift as per above analysis
is indeed the macro-shift, i.e. there is a sudden transformation of fundamental nature within

majority relations of global population. Therefore, due to occurrence of significant impact, a
huge majority of population is required to be affected (Costa, Dotta and Persinger, 2016). Ervin
Laszlo also advocates that a shift in paradigm within nature of reality needs to be agreed by
science. In another words, thinking pattern of large population must be affected via new science,
however, it not seems to be easily acceptable by them. Therefore, global problems are required
global solutions, where society breakdown can be transformed within breakthrough as per five
components, as – trigger; transformation; chaos or critical; breakdown; and breakthrough. Under
this process, if breakdown phase will transform into breakthrough, then only first three steps will
happen, the final step can be possible (Montecucco, 2015).
