INTRODUCTION
Personal and professional development is a process of adopting new ability, skills and
knowledge in the personality for getting success in the particular field. In other word, it can be
said that it is personal development of an individual by which skills, knowledge and abilities are
improved (Hopkinson, 2014). In health and social care organisation, there is required to effective
quality and skill in the service providers so as they can manage patient and render effective
services to them. In the context of H&S, professional development is very essential so as
employees can effectively communicate with patient and manage them appropriately. In this
project report, various criteria of working in the health and social care organisation has been
discussed (Calderhead, 2012). In additional to this,in such organisations how service providers
should treat with patients in order to overcome their health related issues also addressed in this
report. Further, this project has successfully dis cusses personal values and principles which
influence individual personality and their work in health and social care organisation.
TASK 1
1.1
In the health and social care organisation a service provider have major objective to
render effective services and care to the patient so as they can able to recover from their
disability and health issues. Being a service provider in such organisation, my main objective tpo
perform effectively and provides effective helps to patient. For this purpose, I need to improve
my overall professional and personal development so as i can perform excellently in health and
social care organisation (Zepeda, 2012). Personal values are reflections of our needs, desires and
what I care about most in my life. Values are great cohesive forces for our identities and can be
thought of as decision making guidelines that assists me connect to my true selves. On the other
hand individual principles are those attributes in my their personality which define and guilds
me in developing a positive parenting strategy bases on my personal beliefs and value system.
Some personal values and principles which can assist me in contributing effective support and
help to the patients in health and care organisation-
Personal Values & Principles It effects on health and social care
Equal rights It is my major personal value through which I
treat equally to all patients in the health and

social care organisation. In my view, all
patients are equally valuable and important for
me. Therefore, I treat all patients in equal
manner there should not any kind of
discrimination with services users such as age,
caste, genders and other personal references.
For example- if in health and social care
organisation there have so me patients from
India whose culture is completely different
from London. Further their language, beliefs,
values and region is also different from
London. In that situation my personal value of
equality rights can assist me to treat and
facilitate all patients as equal. There should not
any kind of discrimination by providing health
care services an d treatment of them.
Diversity As per this personal value, i understand that
each patients are unique and valuable. For
example- If there are some Indian patient in the
health and social care organisation, then I
should attend some training and development
programs for learn new languages. Through
which I can communicate with them and
understand their words and feelings in an
effective manner.
Confidentiality As per this personal principle, I keep clients
and patient information secure and safe.
Confidentiality mean, I don't use their personal
information for any other purpose. I protect
and keep their data in between me and patients.

Confidentiality includes individual files are
locked and secured. For example- If any group
out of the organisation required some personal
information and data of patients in order to
analyse the situation of hospital. My personal
value of confidentiality does not allow
disclosing any detail of them without their
permission.
1.2
In health and social care organisation, patients always desires proper care and remedies
for his health issues and disability. In addition to this they want special care and treatments from
service providers. For this purpose, there are required an effective work culture and healthy
environment at workplace so as all patients can feel safe and secure. Organisation culture can
influence large level to patients and with assistance to this aspect they can recover their health
issues (Buxton, Burns and De Muth, 2012). On the other hand personal experience can also
largely affect my role and contribution. In this type of organisation there is required a supportive
and cooperative environment so as patient can feel safe and secure. Personal experience can
assist individual to enhance their capability of working as well as improve their performance at
workplace.
Personal culture and experience Effects on health and social care organisation
Personal culture and experience also affects
the role of individual in the corporation.
Culture refers to the cumulative deposit of
knowledge , experiences, beliefs, values,
attitudes ,meaning, religion, role and spatial
relation required by a group of people in the
course of generation through individual and
group striving (St‐Jean, 2012). On the other
Through effective culture, patients can feel safe
and secure at the organisation. Further,
effective culture motivate employees to
develop healthy relationship with patients.
Culture brings a healthy environment in the
organisation where all people cooperate with
each other and they have supportive and
positive attitude with each other (Grohmann

hand experience refers to the working capacity
and knowledge about a particular field.

experience can enhance the service providers
capability and ability of working so as they can
perform effectively at workplace. Through
effective experience in health and social care
organisation, I can enhance my working
performance and manage my assignment in
well defined manner.
1.3
In health and social care organisation, new development changes affects all activities and
function in this field. In order to manage the patient in this organisation, service providers are
required to develop new skills and knowledge. As a service provider in the health and social care
organisation I have discuses with the my subordinates and other social workers in order to make
organisation more effective and successful. On the basis of the group discussion with my staff
members and other social care worker I have decided to bring some new development in the
organisation which assist in developing effective health care services and innovation in
management. Therefore I need to develop the new target and research for my personal value
which help at my workplace (Gibbs, 2012). Following are new development in the personal
value which positively affects the activities in health and social care organisation-
New development in health and social care act 2008 brings special care and treatment for
all patients. As per this act, people in mentioned organisation prevent from unsafe care
and treatment (Pedler,Burgoyne and Boydell, 2013). Also prevent them from harm and
risk. Service providers needs to make sure equipments used in patient treatment is safe
and applicable in sufficient quantities.
Research programs may help to fulfil the existing requirement about the services. It may
assist to overcome the tension and conflicts.
Training session may be very helpful to overcome the weakness at work place and from
this I can able to learn new criteria and strategy to solve the conflict at there.
