INTRODUCTIONCritical appraisal can be defined as a systematic process which is generally used toidentify strengths and weaknesses of a research article in order to assess the usefulness andvalidity of research findings (Courtney and McCutcheonm, 2010). This tool helps in completingcritical analysis of the different types of evidence such as systematic review, RandomizedControlled Trials (RCTs), Qualitative Research, Economic Evaluation Studies, Cohort Studies,Case Control Studies and Diagnostic Test Studies (Catherine, Nicholas and Jennie, 2007). Thecurrent study will critically apprise two different articles and their findings. Regarding this, itwill use Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASP) tool. Present study focuses on two differentarticles and these articles are based on qualitative and quantitative research design. So, as per theCASP tool, current research will use different criteria for accomplishing critical appraisal of botharticles. CASP TOOL FOR CRITICAL APPRAISALAs per the CASP tool there are three basic issues which need to be considered at the timeof conducting critical appraisal of the different articles (Hopp and Rittenmeyer, 2012). Theseissues are as follows:1.Is the study valid?2.What are the results?3.Will the result help locally? Therefore, critical appraisal of selected articles will assess the internal validity, resultsand relevance to practice. This tool includes 10-12 questions for analysing results and findings ofthe different studies. There is no specific condition behind the use of CASP tool (CriticalAppraisal Skills Programme, 2016). As per the pilot test, feedbacks and reviews CASP tools aresuitable for a wide target audience in service administration and health care delivery. The currentresearch study has selected two different articles for completing whole critical appraisal (CASPCHECKLISTS, 2016). In which cone articles is randomised controlled trial and another is aqualitative study. Application of CASP tool is beneficial for checking the validity of findings ofthe research articles (APPRAISING THE EVIDENCE, 2016). Critical appraisal of both articles isdescribed as under:1| P a g e
